We offer five programs for students and graduates in EMEA. Read on to learn about each opportunity, including eligibility requirements, when they take place and when applications are open.

Full-Time Analyst Programme

Our Full-Time Analyst Programme is a prestigious two-year experience at BlackRock that helps bring together personal passions with our mission. As an Analyst, you’ll join a firm of smart and ambitious professionals who will challenge you to think critically and push your boundaries. You will have the opportunity to work on interesting projects and collaborate with teams around the globe – driving innovation, shaping the future of our industry and helping more and more people experience financial well-being. You’ll get hands-on experience, with ongoing support and mentorship to help you develop in your career.

Eligibility: Undergraduate or master’s students graduating between September 2024 and July 2025

In addition to English, local language fluency is required in all EMEA locations except Budapest and Zurich.

Duration: This is a 2-year experience; rotation schedules vary by business function.

Summer Internship Programme

Our Summer Internship Programme is an exciting eight-week experience that helps provide insight into life as a BlackRock Analyst. As an Intern, you’ll work directly with one of our many teams while engaging in thought-provoking discussions hosted by senior leaders and connecting with mentors who can help guide you through these first steps of your career. You’ll also have events throughout the summer that will help you better get to know the firm, your colleagues and your fellow Interns!

Eligibility: Undergraduate or master’s students graduating in 2026

In addition to English, local language fluency is required in all EMEA locations except Budapest and Zurich.

Duration: 8 weeks across June-August

Off-Cycle Internship Programme

Our six-month Off-Cycle Internship Programme helps provide insight into life as a BlackRock Analyst. You’ll work directly with one of our many teams, gaining hands-on experience as you get to better know our business. You’ll have the opportunity to hone your skills, develop industry expertise, and create meaningful connections while making an impact on the future of the firm.

Eligibility: Undergraduate or master’s students graduating between July 2025 and 2026

In addition to English, local language fluency is required in all EMEA locations except Budapest and Zurich.

Duration: 6 months

12-Month Placement Programme

Our 12-Month Placement Programme gives you the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be part of BlackRock. You’ll have real-world responsibility from day one and contribute to our success by helping the firm meet the evolving needs of our clients. You’ll also gain and develop new skills as you build the foundation for a successful career here.

Eligibility: Undergraduate students required by their degree to complete a long-term internship; students should be graduating in 2027

Duration: 12 months

Apprenticeship Programme

Our Apprenticeship Programme provides an opportunity for school leavers to join one of our business areas on an 18-month training contract in Edinburgh or London. As an Apprentice, you’ll get to experience firsthand what it’s like to work on a team at BlackRock. During your time here you’ll have ongoing training and opportunities for professional development. Upon successful completion of the programme, you’ll be eligible to receive an offer to join BlackRock as a full-time employee.

Duration: 18 months

WOMEN OF THE MARKETS INSIGHT EVENT

Passionate about building and analysing investment strategies, portfolios and products? During this multi-day event in London, you’ll get to engage in business spotlights, senior speaker sessions, and panel discussions – all designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to start cultivating a fulfilling career. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your network through built-in social events.

BLACK HERITAGE INSIGHT EVENT

This multi-day event in London is for students of Black heritage who are eager to learn more about BlackRock. During this multi-day event in London, you’ll get to engage in business spotlights, senior speaker sessions, and panel discussions – all designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to start cultivating a fulfilling career. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your network through built-in social events.

WOMEN IN FINTECH INSIGHT EVENT

This two-day event – which takes place in Edinburgh – is designed for female students who are interested in technology graduate and intern opportunities. You’ll participate in educational and interactive workshops that will help you learn more about Aladdin and how we use it here at BlackRock. You’ll also have an opportunity to network with technologists and leaders from the firm!

SPRING INSIGHT EVENT

Offered in our Edinburgh and London offices, the Spring Insight Event provides a week-long, in-depth look at our business. You’ll gain insight into life at BlackRock through classroom sessions, work-shadowing, networking and social events.

Eligibility: Undergraduate or master’s students graduating in 2027

Assessment

Enter basic details and upload your resume/CV. You'll receive a link to complete a pre-interview assessment where you record answers to questions based on the program you applied to. For software engineers, this includes a coding challenge. Applications will not be considered if the pre-interview assessment is not completed.

Interviews

 

Participate in virtual interviews with representatives of the function(s) of interest. These conversations will be focused on the BlackRock Principles, your experience or your capabilities and may include a group exercise, presentation or case study. For software engineers, this may include problem-solving exercises or technical questions.
