Our global, world-class Finance & Strategy (F&S) function works to deliver truth, transparency as well as trusted, experienced advice to BlackRock and its partners. F&S is a key enabler of business growth and is fundamental in making business decisions and improving the organization’s efficiency. F&S provides thought leadership across the firm.
Teams you may be considered for:
Analysts who join F&S will participate in two 12-month rotations across F&S. You’ll receive access to curated programming designed to enable career growth as well as support to pursue long-term development. Areas an Analyst might rotate to include:
Corporate Strategy & Development
This area supports the firm in positioning BlackRock to generate robust, long-term growth and shareholder value creation through formulating and executing enterprise-level vision and strategy, facilitating business-level strategies and driving large multi-functional assignments and initiatives for the firm.
Through strategic planning and analysis, we act as the “connective tissue,” monitoring business results, allocating resources and implementing metric-driven client support.
• Corporate Development partners with the firm's senior leadership to execute transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures and strategic partnerships.
• Corporate Strategy analyzes major strategic, operational and organizational issues within the firm and presents recommendations to senior management.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
FP&A aims to be the Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) for BlackRock’s businesses & functions, serving as a thought leader and partner across the firm to manage risk, enhance decision-making, support the achievement of the firm’s objectives and optimize the firm’s resource allocation. FP&A is divided into:
• Firm Reporting & Analytics (FRA), supporting the CFO & running corporate processes
• Client Businesses (regions)
• Product Businesses (investment teams)
What will you do as an Analyst?
- Gain insight into multiple parts of F&S by working closely across multiple areas, building well-rounded skills
- Develop interpersonal skills to improve relatability and achieve business goals, acting as a trusted business partner to various internal clients
- Gain a strong understanding of the internal control and risk management framework
- Develop skills to frame, analyze, structure and communicate answers to complex business questions and to collect, optimize, summarize and govern data for business insights
- Take advantage of opportunities to leverage GenAI capabilities to design impactful operational improvements and improve efficiency
- Partner with senior leaders across BlackRock to establish strategic objectives and how to best execute them
- Work across various geographies and businesses to assess performance and drive forward-looking strategy
- Evaluate external opportunities across the globe, including acquisitions, partnerships and joint ventures
- Educate and update buy-side investors about the strategic direction and financial results of BlackRock
What capabilities are we looking for?
- Well-organized, methodical and detail-orientated with an ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to synthesize information (including large datasets) and summarize key issues using financial systems, models & data visualization tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and establish effective working relationships with both internal and external partners
