What is Aladdin Wealth Tech?

We’re Aladdin Wealth Tech. We are a FinTech company with a start-up vibe but some big-time resources. Aladdin Wealth Tech provides financial advisors, and BlackRock’s wealth advisory teams, with a suite of experiences that affords them portfolio construction, analysis, and diagnostic capabilities. Our mission is to improve the power of Aladdin’s analytics, technology, and data to give financial advisors the edge they need to build better portfolios and deliver better outcomes to their end customers.

Our product is a B2B enterprise SaaS offering that analyses millions of real portfolios around the world every day, and we generate direct revenues for the firm. We operate as one cohesive unit spanning client, product, and engineering, and we pride ourselves on getting things done and delivering business value quickly and reliably. We are passionate about finding new ways to address real business problems in our industry using technology and data.

About the role:

We're seeking a Software Engineer to become a part of our Securities and Portfolio Analytics team within Aladdin Wealth Tech. This vibrant team operates out of London and India, embracing an agile methodology in a dynamic start-up setting. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, client-facing groups and other development teams to craft cutting-edge financial solutions from a technical perspective. As such, you will be faced with several large-scale business-oriented projects that encompass the entire department with high-level visions setting out clear requirements. This will be coupled with end-to-end technical challenges that require a comprehensive journey, starting you from the initial stages of requirements collection and design, all the way through to launch and post-implementation production support.

Key Responsibilities

·Work in a fast-paced and sophisticated environment.

·Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-country workplace.

·Craft and develop innovative solutions to complex problems and identify roadblocks early.

·Deliver high efficiency, high availability, concurrent, scalable and fault-tolerant software systems.

·Collaborate with product management and business users to outline the product roadmap and ensure clear communication.

·Evaluate the software development lifecycle, improve processes, and implement standard methodologies.

·Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit, regression and user acceptance testing, dev ops and production support.

·Review the code of your colleagues and offer constructive feedback to uphold code quality, adhere to standard processes, and encourage knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

·B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area

·3+ years of software experience in a commercial capacity

About you:

·A solid background in fundamental Java and related technologies, along with object-oriented skills and design patterns.

·Demonstrated ability to build outstanding software through diligent and meticulous methods.

·Excellent investigation and debugging skills, including an ability to resolve issues spanning multiple components of the stack

·Hands-on experience in Java/Spring Framework/Spring Boot

·Experience working with Git, CI/CD, Agile, and SDLC processes

·Experience in Linux/Unix

·Experience building modern software using engineering tools such as git, maven, unit testing and integration testing tools, mocking frameworks

·Working experience with relational databases such as Sybase and MSSQL

·Working experience with non-relational databases including Cassandra and Solr

·Great analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills

Nice to have and opportunities to learn:

·Exposure to building microservices and APIs ideally with REST or gRPC

·Experience with DevOps and tools like Azure DevOps

·Experience working in an agile development team or on open-source development projects.

·Experience working with financial problems and an understanding of financial markets from an asset and wealth management perspective

Our hybrid work model
