BlackRock’s Global Trading organization provides execution services globally across all asset classes and collaborates with investors and market participants to improve investment performance.  The Trading Analytics and Research (TAR) team sits within Global Trading and is primarily responsible for maintaining the stability, resiliency and scalability of the TAR application, generating key metrics and data in the delivery of Transaction Cost Analysis  (TCA) across asset classes.  Our TCA framework empowers Global Trading to refine execution strategies and trading performance, resulting in better outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing and developing user interfaces using Angular ,JavaScript and Java/Python, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
  • Developing the back-end using REST and Java, focusing on scalability and performance.
  • Handling all aspects of software development, including unit testing, performance optimization, and resolving system issues.
  • Providing support for our transaction cost platform and resolving issues that arise promptly.
  • Collaborating with other developers, market structure, and research teams to enhance analysis capabilities.
  • Coming up with creative ideas for new features to enhance the user experience, and implementing them effectively.
  • Leading the way for improvements in UI by identifying areas for enhancement, proposing innovative solutions, and driving the implementation of these improvements.

Skills and Experience:

  • User-Centric Design: Always prioritize the needs and preferences of the end-users. Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and make informed design decisions.
  • Performance Optimization: Regularly monitor and optimize the performance of the user interfaces to ensure fast load times and smooth interactions.
  • Responsive Design: Ensure that the user interfaces are responsive and work seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes.
  • Code Quality: Maintain high code quality by following best practices, conducting code reviews, and writing comprehensive unit tests.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in UI technologies and incorporate them into your work to keep the interfaces modern and efficient.
  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment by actively communicating with team members and stakeholders, and being open to feedback and suggestions.
  • Leadership in UI Improvements: Take initiative in identifying areas for UI improvement, propose innovative solutions, and lead the implementation of these enhancements to ensure a superior user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing applications using Java/Python, Angular 5 and Angular 16+.
  • 8-14 years of relevant experience in the industry
  • Experience developing applications in Java.
  • Proficient in UI technologies – Java/Python, Angular, React, JavaScript, RxJs, CSS, HTML, Micro-frontend.
  • B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and database technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Interest in working with financial products and transaction cost analysis.

Work Hours:10am to 7pm IST
