About this role

Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and expert leader to establish the Data Quality and Process Excellence function in DataOps for one of the largest global FinTech’s. This is a new role that will transform how we ensure high quality data across all data domains with outstanding modern data quality processes & reflects our dedication to invest in our Enterprise Data Platform to unlock our data strategy for BlackRock and our Aladdin Client Community. A technology first approach, to drive the transformation in the Data Operations function with high levels of automation and engineering, is needed along with strong client engagement skills. This role requires a deep understanding of data, domains, and the associated controls.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, technology and data driven individual who has a track record in establishing and leading domain and process driven automation/excellence initiatives and operations.

  • Define the standards for Data Quality partnering with Engineering and Data Stewards to build data quality controls & procedures to deliver on time high quality data.

  • Build Input Data Quality Operations with 24x7 coverage

  • Lead the design/optimization of end-to-end data processes across multiple data domains

  • Build and implement outstanding processes across Incident Management, Problem Management, Query Management etc

  • Drive the implementation/optimization of automated data workflows, supervising processes and data quality controls by leveraging AI and other sophisticated automation tools.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvements by reviewing operational metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing data Ops workflows to improve overall performance.

  • Establish key performance indicators and metrics to measure the effectiveness of process excellence and data quality efforts across different data domains.

  • Work closely with senior leadership, Data Stewardship, Governance, Product and engineering teams to ensure alignment between data operations, business objectives, and strategic initiatives.

  • Drive the evolution of the DataOps function by finding opportunities for process automation, optimization, and scale

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Masters/Professional Degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering

  • 12+ years’ experience in Data Operations, Data Management, Operations Transformation with both functional and technical exposure.

  • Understanding of modern-day data highways, the associated challenges, and effective controls

  • Passionate about data platforms, data quality and everything data

  • Technical expert including experience with data processing, orchestration, data ingestion, cloud-based databases/warehousing and business intelligence tools

  • The ability to analyze large data sets through the data lifecycle, including the tooling and observability required to ensure data quality and control at scale

  • Subject matter expert, willing to learn new data domains

  • Strong presence with clients

  • Inquisitive leader who will bring new insights that challenge the status quo

  • Ability to navigate a large, highly matrixed organization

  • Financial services experience desired
