The Aladdin Product Business Analyst sits at the heart of BlackRock, responsible for designing, building, and operating Aladdin. Being a member of Aladdin Product means working with the most thoughtful in the industry to build innovative products that shape financial markets. A Business Analyst typically processes, interprets, and documents business processes, products, services, and software through analysis of data. They may also be involved in designing and modifying business systems or IT systems. The role involves working with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that the requirements are met within the financial constraints. In the context of Post Trade Investment Banking, this could involve analyzing post-trade processes such as settlements, confirmations, corporate actions and reconciliation etc. to improve efficiency and reduce risk. You will have the opportunity to learn about and interact with a variety of core Aladdin capabilities spanning the entire investment lifecycle. You will also closely connect with our client community, and BlackRock business strategy to steer our product's direction.
This role is accountable for delivering automation capabilities for configuring, building and understanding complex post trade requirements for BlackRock and the Aladdin client community. A successful product owner will help define a clear product vision, execute on this vision, and ensure continuous partner feedback and alignment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conducting business analysis and data analysis to understand business needs and challenges
- Developing and managing business requirements to guide the implementation of business solutions for Aladdin in the Post Trade Space
- Data Analysis: The ability to interpret and analyze data effectively is crucial. This includes skills in databasing, data mapping, and using data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL Server, and Visio
- Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience with tools like JIRA, ADO,Aha is important for working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Business Systems Analysis: This involves the ability to manage and improve business processes, including functional requirements and functional testing.
- Attends all key agile development ceremonies such as stand-ups, grooming, planning, demos, and retrospectives
- Partner with developers through the development process; incorporate user feedback
- Serve as a resource to internal and external clients with regard to our capabilities in the context of their business and help define and lead opportunities related to post trade workflows in the market place
- Participate within external Industry Working groups to define messaging standards that can be implemented within Aladdin
You have:
- 4-7 years of Business Analysis or meaningful experience desired
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance or equivalent practical experience
- MBA degree Finance, Economics, or a related field, CFA is preferred
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic familiarity with the investment lifecycle desired
- Technical Skills: Good knowledge on SQL and familiarity with FIX Messaging, FPML, SWIFT Messages, and Sybase. Understanding on programming languages is good to have
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and organisational / planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and communicate up and down the organization
- Ability to work and deliver results independently, self-starter
