As an Associate, you will work at the intersection of portfolio management, investment analytics, and emerging technologies. You will support daily portfolio operations while advancing scalable capabilities across performance measurement, attribution, risk analysis, and workflow automation. Your contributions will directly influence investment decisions, operational efficiency, and the continued evolution of the model portfolio platform.

Your Responsibilities

In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

Portfolio Management

  • Utilize internal risk and compliance tools to ensure portfolios remain aligned with established investment objectives.

  • Contribute analytical insights that support portfolio construction, investment oversight, and model evolution.

Financial Analytics

  • Own performance analysis across model portfolios, with a focus on benchmark-relative returns, implementation effects, and portfolio outcomes.

  • Design, maintain, and enhance multi-asset attribution and risk analytics to support robust portfolio evaluation.

  • Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable investment insights to support business and investment decision-making.

  • Develop scalable reporting frameworks and visualization capabilities that improve transparency into portfolio performance, risk, and exposures.

Technology & AI Enablement

  • Develop Python-based tools and automated workflows to support scalable portfolio analytics.

  • Leverage internal data platforms, including Aladdin and SQL-based data sources, to improve the efficiency, scalability, and quality of analytical processes.

  • Apply AI/LLM technologies, prompt engineering, and workflow automation techniques to streamline research, reporting, and investment analysis.

  • Design and implement AI-enabled analytical solutions that enhance portfolio insights, decision-support capabilities, and operational efficiency.

  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders to evaluate emerging AI capabilities and identify opportunities to improve investment workflows.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline.

  • Strong understanding of portfolio management, performance evaluation, attribution, and risk analytics.

  • Proficiency in Python and experience working with structured datasets, including SQL.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.

  • Experience applying AI and LLM technologies to analytics, workflow automation, research, reporting, or business insight generation.

  • Experience with model portfolios, asset allocation, or multi-asset investment strategies.

  • Familiarity with portfolio analytics platforms, risk models, or investment technology platforms.

  • Experience developing AI-enabled analytical tools, automation frameworks, agents, or decision-support capabilities.

  • Exposure to data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI.

  • Progress toward a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or similar professional designation.

Why This Role

  • Gain direct exposure to model portfolio management within a leading asset management firm and a rapidly growing business.

  • Help shape the future of AI-enabled investment analytics and portfolio intelligence.

  • Build innovative tools and analytical capabilities that directly influence investment decisions and client outcomes.
