BlackRock Global Markets and Index Investments (BGM)bringstogether BlackRock’s index equity, index fixed income, global trading, securities lending, cash management, ETF markets, and financing and financial resource management businesses to deliver investment, trading,financingand risk management excellence for clients every minute of every day.

The AI Office within BlackRock Global Markets is a function focused on transforming our businesses with the use of AI, with 3 specificgoals :scaling the investment process to increase productivity, generating insightsforperformanceandidentifyingrevenue opportunities to grow our business. We will achieve these goals bydelivering ona cohesive AI strategy for BGM, helping drive prioritization and governance and connecting with partners across theFirm  onAI initiatives. Also critical is the acceleration of our execution plans for AI, helping run pilots and proof of concepts to final deployed products and the incubation of AI DNA into BGM, bringing in new skills to make us better technologists and help amplify our collective impact.Within the AI office, we are looking tosetupan AI Engineering team, specifically focused onscaling AI Research to production quality products and solutions

Job Purpose/Background:

The BGM AI office is looking forastrong individual contributorto helpwith theestablishment ofthe AI Engineeringteam whoseprimaryjob responsibilities includeworking with the Research andBusiness teams to understand specific goals and deliverables and workingto convert initial research toend state products/solutions that can be deployed to production.The team will focus onpartnering with centralfunctionsto build on Firmprovidedplatforms and frameworks. The work will also involve buildinga reusable toolkitfor use by in-business partners and helping raise the AI skillset forall ofBGM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build AI engineering solutions, both LLM and MLbased and ensure production quality design and deployment

  • Partner with Research teams across BGM to take proof of concepts to products and solutions

  • Create common tools and platform solutions that can be useful across multiple BGM use cases, leveraging and adapting Firm technology where applicablee.g.trustworthy AI, model testing, pdf parsing tools 

  • Work with BGM’s data engineering teams to source new datasets for AI modelingand prepare existing ones for AI use

  • Work with BLK’s central AI office and other AI-forward teams at BlackRock, especially in Investment organizations toidentifysynergies and opportunities to partner

  • Create alignment and help build a community with AI,Researchand data teams in Gurgaon and within BGM globally

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in theFinancialservices industry in an Engineering role that requiresknowledge of investment workflows and products

  • Bachelor’slevel education with a focus onengineering, computer science,statistics,mathematicsor related fields

  • Experience with creating production-quality softwarebased on research

  • Experience with emerging LLM offerings from industry leaders

  • Experience in python & related framework/libraries

  • Experience with data engineering (ETLs) and analytical tools (Tableau,PowerBIetc.)

  • Experience inmodeling includingmachinelearning,econometrics/ statisticalanalysisand various optimization techniques

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
