About this role
This senior leadership position sits within Preqin’s Data Engineering/BI team, at the heart of our mission to revolutionise private markets data and technology. As Vice President, you will report directly to the Director and play a pivotal role in building and scaling our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.
You will combine deep technical expertise with strong business-facing skills, ensuring our data solutions are robust, innovative, and closely aligned with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across Preqin’s Data Engineering/BI team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Architect and oversee the development of scalable, reliable data pipelines and analytics platforms, with a strong focus on Snowflake, SQL, and Python.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable data initiatives, ensuring alignment with Preqin’s and BlackRock’s broader vision.
Champion best practices in data management, governance, and security, leveraging automation, cloud technologies, and modern engineering principles.
Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and AI/ML solutions, integrating technical innovation with business value.
Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication of technical concepts and data-driven strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Oversee project delivery, prioritising work based on business impact and data-driven insights.
Promote a collaborative environment, bridging the gap between technical and business teams.
About You
Proven experience in a senior data leadership or principal technical role, with hands-on expertise in Snowflake, SQL, and Python.
Strong track record of working with data engineers and BI analysts.
Deep understanding of data architecture, pipeline design (preferrably DBT), and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS preferred).
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in business analysis, stakeholder management, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach and a passion for innovation.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing long-term vision with immediate business needs.
Prior experience with AI/ML projects, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Nice to Have
Experience with global teams and multi-language environments.
Exposure to Kubernetes and advanced observability practices.
