Job description
About this role
BlackRock's Manager Research team is looking for an Associate, specifically focused on hedge funds, to join our team in London.
Who we are:
BlackRock Manager Research (“BMR”) is a global team responsible for sourcing and selecting investment managers across public and private asset classes for use in client portfolios. BMR seeks to generate alpha through disciplined manager research, selection and monitoring, with dedicated investment professionals across three specialized pillars: Investment Due Diligence (“IDD”), Operational Due Diligence (“ODD”), and Quantitative Due Diligence (“QDD”), where we analyze data, trends, and strategies to ensure our clients’ investments thrive.
BMR is part of BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (“MASS”) group, where asset allocation, portfolio construction, and active management come together to deliver investment solutions for clients globally. MASS manages more than $1 trillion in assets across a broad range of institutional and wealth strategies.
This role will primarily support BlackRock’s Hedge Fund Solutions (“HFS”) business within MASS. HFS invests across the spectrum of hedge fund strategies with the objective of delivering strong risk-adjusted returns and low correlation to traditional asset classes. The platform partners with clients globally to design and manage diversified hedge fund portfolios and customized investment solutions. As of July 2026, HFS manages more than $40 billion in assets, making it one of the world’s largest allocators to hedge funds.
Your Role:
As an Associate on our Investment Due Diligence team in London, your mission will be to help us find the best investment managers, understand their strategies, and monitor their performance with the goal of helping our clients meet their investment goals. If you're eager to make a significant impact and be part of a global, forward-thinking team, this opportunity is for you!
What You'll Do:

- Build and maintain professional networks, identify and evaluate news articles and research reports for pertinent information, and provide the Research team with timely and informative data points
- Monitor funds post investment
- Help prepare for and participate in manager meetings and calls
- Help prepare broader strategy- and portfolio-level reviews with Portfolio Managers and other senior professionals
- Participate in the collection, synthesis, and dissemination of information captured through interacting with external investment managers and being a student of the markets
- Build an in-depth understanding of a range of investment strategies and associated instruments, but with a primary focus on quantitative hedge fund strategies
- Develop an understanding of the capital markets in which the investment strategies operate
What You Offer:
