About this role

Team Overview

The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions team (MASS) Portfolio Management team is responsible for a wide array of portfolio management responsibilities across the global MASS business. In London, the team works across OCIO, Wealth and Alternative Solutions books to deliver investment results to institutional and wealth clients, managing assets across public and private, liquid and illiquid markets. The PM team works with CIOs and researchers on portfolio construction and new business design, contributes to investment research, manages portfolio implementation, and drives enhancements across the PM platform.

Position Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking a candidate to join our team in London to manage custom portfolios of illiquid and liquid alternative assets. Given the rapid growth of the business, this role has considerable scope for the right individual to have an impact on the success of the team as well as the broader MASS business. The successful candidate will possess outstanding attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for thinking critically about financial markets both across and within asset classes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multi-asset portfolios comprised of alternative and public market investments

  • Develop automation and analytical tools to improve investment process and drive scale in an innovative and fast-evolving environment

  • Perform daily fund management tasks, including implementing multiple investment strategies, risk monitoring, rebalancing, and performance attribution

  • Ensure all mandates conform to performance expectations, investment guidelines, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate across the firm with analytics, risk, data and other platform teams to drive improvements in systems, investment and trading processes

Desired Experience/Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (Physics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or similar) or equivalent demonstrated professional experience with proven passion for investing

  • Strong technical abilities with ability to understand portfolio construction and optimization techniques, and ability to develop process automation and tools to manage large numbers of portfolios. Data skills and coding experience are highly desirable

  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to remain focused across a wide range of portfolio types and activities. Strong process awareness and ability to address operational risk issues

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify investing and operational challenges, and to design and implement solutions

  • Strong strategic communication and interpersonal skills, ability to partner with multiple groups across the firm

  • Technical skills including Python, Power BI and SQL strongly preferred
