About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional engineering executive to lead Portfolio Management Services Engineering globally and serve as Head of PM Engineering India, to drive a modernization program to unlock 10x improvement of Scale, Resilience and Performance in the portfolio management capabilities in Aladdin, used by over 10k professional investors every day to manage in excess of $20Tn of financial assets. This leader will be responsible for the strategy, architecture, delivery, operational excellence, and talent development of a portfolio of mission-critical investment technology services, frameworks, and API products - that power Portfolio Management capabilities at scale. The role combines large-scale engineering leadership, organizational leadership, technical vision, and investment domain expertise. The successful candidate will lead globally distributed teams responsible for highly scalable shared services and platforms that enable portfolio construction, analytics, investment workflows, automation, and client-facing capabilities across the investment lifecycle. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the future architecture of Portfolio Management in Aladdin while building world-class engineering teams and helping engineers achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Technology Leadership

  • Define and execute the technology strategy for Portfolio Management Services Engineering.

  • Lead the modernization and evolution of critical shared platforms and services supporting portfolio management workflows.

  • Drive architectural direction across large-scale distributed systems with a focus on high scalability, stability, resilience, performance, observability, and operational excellence.

  • Partner closely with product, architecture, SRE, data, and business stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic outcomes.

Build World-Class Engineering Teams

  • Lead, coach, and develop engineering managers, architects, and senior technical leaders.

  • Create an environment where engineers can grow their careers and reach their full potential.

  • Build strong succession pipelines and leadership depth across the organization.

  • Foster a culture of mentorship, continuous learning, innovation, and inclusion.

Deliver Business Outcomes

  • Own execution and delivery of a complex global portfolio of initiatives.

  • Establish a culture of accountability, ownership, predictability, and operational excellence.

  • Balance long-term platform investments with near-term business commitments.

  • Drive measurable outcomes for clients, portfolio managers, and internal stakeholders.

Technical Excellence

  • Provide executive oversight and guidance on architecture and engineering decisions.

  • Champion engineering excellence across software architecture, development, testing, security, reliability, and operations.

  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, AI-enabled development, automation, and platform engineering principles.

  • Ensure systems meet demanding standards for scale, resiliency, availability, and performance.

Investment Technology Leadership

  • Partner with investment professionals and product leaders to deliver capabilities that improve investment decision making and portfolio management outcomes.

  • Develop strong understanding of portfolio construction, risk, analytics, order generation, trading workflows, investment automation, and related investment processes.

  • Translate complex investment requirements into scalable engineering solutions.

Head of PM Engineering India

  • Provide senior leadership for the India PM Engineering organization.

  • Develop talent, strengthen leadership capability, and build a high-performance engineering culture.

  • Act as a key representative of the India engineering organization within the broader enterprise.

  • Drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, hiring, engagement, and leadership development.

Innovation & Change Leadership

  • Lead organizational and technology transformation initiatives.

  • Leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve developer productivity and product outcomes.

  • Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement across people, process, and technology.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of software engineering experience with significant experience leading large global engineering organizations.

  • Proven success leading organizations in highly demanding environments such as:

    • Asset Management

    • Investment Banking

    • Capital Markets

    • FinTech

    • Large-scale Technology Platforms

  • Track record of leading multiple teams and managers and growing engineering leaders across multiple locations and time zones.

  • Experience managing mission-critical platforms operating at significant scale.

  • Ability to engage deeply in architecture reviews and guide senior technical leaders.

Domain Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of investment management, portfolio management, trading, analytics, market data, risk management, or related financial technology domains.

  • Ability to connect business strategy, investment workflows, and technology execution.
