What are Aladdin and Portfolio Management Engineering?
You will be working on BlackRock's investment operating system called Aladdin. Aladdin is used both internally within BlackRock and externally by many financial institutions. Aladdin combines sophisticated risk analytics with comprehensive portfolio management, trading, and operations tools on a single platform to power informed decision-making and create a connective tissue for thousands of users investing worldwide.
In Portfolio Management Engineering, you will work on systems that operateata global scale and evolve the foundations of our platform. This includes building reliable, performant systems, shaping shared frameworks, and increasingly applying AI-assisted workflows to accelerate how we design, code, and deliver value. We are evolving toward purpose driven, outcome-oriented product engineering, where humans guide and validate AI generated output while taking full responsibility for product, engineering, and business outcomes.
In the Aladdin Portfolio Management-Target Driven Investingarea, you will help evolve the platform that powers the end-to-end investment lifecycle for model managers, portfolio managers, and asset allocators. You will build workflows that enable firms to define investment targets, monitor exposures in real-time, and rebalance thousands of portfolios at scale through a unified, highly configurable workflow.

Qualifications:
B.E./ B.TECH./ MCA or any other relevant engineering degree from a reputed university.
7+ years of experience
Skills and Experience:
Fostering a collaborative environment and driving projects to successful completion.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills are essential to guide team membersand support their professional growth andcoordinate cross-team efforts globally.
The candidate is expected to actively participate in coding while also providing effective leadership and management to team members.
7+ years of experience in full stack software development using Java 17+ or JavaScript related technologies (React or Angular).
Strong knowledge of Data Structures, Object Oriented Programing concepts and design patterns.
Experience working with Spring Framework and Spring Boot web services.
Experience working with Rest APIs and designing APIs is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Open-Source technology stack (Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Maven, JUnit, Kafka, Ignite etc.).
Demonstrate an ability to build real-time applications or apps that process large volumes of data yet remain highly responsive even in high-latency environments.
Experience working with end users, and UX designers when building user interfaces.
Exposure to the whole web stack, including protocols, web client server performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Experience with the Agile SDLC, with a quality-first mindset and high test-coverage, using test frameworks like Cypress, Jest, Mocha, Karma etc.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Detail oriented, consistently ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of their work.
Experience or a real interest in finance, investment or portfolio management processes, and an ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
Experience taking emotional ownership of the design and development of a significant application, system, or key component. Ability to form positive relationships with partnering teams, sponsors, and user groups in a distributed team environment.
Good to have:
Proven experience leading and managing a team of four or more engineers.
