Corporate Actions forms part of Investment Operations at BlackRock.

Team Overview

The global Corporate Actions team has primary operating locations in Edinburgh (UK), Wilmington, Delaware (US), Gurgaon (India) and Singapore.  The team provide a best in class Corporate Action service through the application of governance and controls designed to mitigate risk to the firm and our clients. The team operates as a single global entity with a robust operating model and controlled management of workload across regions.

Role Responsibility

Production support for Asset Servicing, including Announcement, Instruction, Entitlement and Reconciliation processes. Completion of event data scrubbing, transaction processing and reconciliation to ensure timely and accurate event records are presented to portfolio managers for investment decisions.

Build and maintain effective relationships with the team globally, to drive execution, risk management and the success of the operating model. Identify and mitigate risk in production processes. Escalate appropriately to team leaders and managers.

Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure highest quality production data is maintained and client experience achieved. Leverage knowledge of asset servicing to support portfolio managers, Investment Operations and the broader business. Engage with external providers, including vendors, custodians and brokers to resolve data discrepancies or address service issues

Represent Asset Servicing on internal and external meetings. Participate in local, regional and global initiatives and projects for the function.

Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with any relevant compliance or regulatory requirements. Collaborate on and lead business and strategic initiatives to transform and improve the platform.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years industry experience in Business Operations, preferably with experience in Asset Servicing.

Understand the risks inherent in the Asset Servicing environment and demonstrate discipline around control and escalation. Strong attention to detail and understanding of operational processes

Possess a high level of self- motivation and adaptability. Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with the ability and desire to drive operational excellence.

Demonstrate an affinity for teamwork and the ability to contribute as a partner within a global team. Prioritize and operate effectively to deadlines. Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and engage constructively. Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify problems and develop solutions.

Microsoft Office proficiency. Advanced Excel knowledge desirable. SQL, Python, Blue Prism and other technical expertise highly desirable.
