About this role
BlackRock’s Aladdin Channels and Experience(CXP) is at the center of cutting-edge technologies that serve financial advisors and investors. CXP provides industry leading software solutions, core look-and-feel designs, SDKs & toolkits, for buildingclient facing applications on the Web, Desktop and Mobile, with the goal of improving the user experience of its technology products and improving relationships with the financial advisors who use it.
You will join the development team in Budapest. You will be an integral part of the team and take responsibility for working on the Product roadmap for the Business and contribute to the milestones set for the team.
This position requires solid hands-on programming, creative problem solving, and troubleshooting skills, and an enthusiasm for learning. This role also offers the opportunity to partner with proficient software developers to continue to build both new multi-tier enterprise systems and enhance existing ones.
Responsibilities:
Designing, coding, testing, and supporting reliable, robust software applications and Backend services with high-quality standards and best industry practices.
Be a Subject matter expert for the team and provide technical solutions to the Business requirements.
Role will balance strong engineering output with strong organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
Implement new user interfaces and business functionalities to meet evolving business and customer requirements, working with end users, with clear and concise documentation.
Analyze and improve the performance of applications and related operational workflows to improve efficiency and throughput.
Ensure software stability through documentation, code reviews, regression, unit, and user acceptance testing for smooth production operations.
Participating actively in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation.
Collaborating with Product management on the right units of work to include in each development sprint.
Performing code reviews and providing timely feedback to other engineers.
Work in a Global team environment spreading across several time zones.
Desired Skills/Competencies:
3+ years of experience in frontend development, with a focus on React.js, Angular, and TypeScript.
B.E. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field of study.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, building reusable UI components and optimizing performance in React & Angular applications.
Experience in building modular Micro-frontend applications using Single-spa, Module Federation, Parcel etc.
Experience in building Desktop Native apps using web technologies such as ElectronJs, OpenFin, etc.
Strong experience with modern build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, ESBuild).
Experience in building responsive and accessible web applications (ARIA, WCAG standards).
Experience with CSS pre-processors (SCSS, SASS, LESS) and CSS Modules, CSS-in-JS solutions (Styled Components, TailwindCSS).
Strong experience in working with APIs (REST, gRPC, websockets, streams).
Strong experience in debugging, profiling, and optimizing frontend performance.
Experience with Testing Library, Cypress.io, Jest, or other frontend testing frameworks.
Handson experience of state management (Redux, NgRx, React Hooks, React Context, etc.), and component lifecycle.
Handson experience with React Router, React Query for data fetching and client-side routing.
Understanding of UI/UX principles and the ability to collaborate with design teams.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
Knowledge of software development methodologies (analysis, design, development, testing) and a basic understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and practices.
Nice to Have:
Experience in backend technologies – Java, Python, Go, SQL.
Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman.
Experience in working with Java Swing UI is a big plus.
Experience with AI-related projects/products or experience working in an AI research environment is a big plus, and AI code-assistants, such as, Github Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.
Experience working with large monorepo architecture using Lerna, NX.
Familiarity with FINOS FDC3 interoperability standard.
Familiarity with ServerSide Rendering (SSR) and Static Site Generation (SSG) using Next.js.
Familiarity with IdP, Authentication and Authorization for frontend apps using oAuth2.0 standards (Okta).
Exposure to financial, investment management, or fintech domains.
Exposure to Snowflake Database.
Exposure to Hero UI (formerly NextUI).
Exposure to cloud-native design patterns to event-driven microservice architectures.
Exposure to native cloud (Azure, AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
