Hiring Teams & Roles

GIP Summer Interns will support either the Equity or Credit teams. ​

As a Summer Intern on GIP’s Equity or Credit investment team, you will work alongside deal team members to help evaluate and execute infrastructure investment opportunities across the energy, transportation, digital, and/or water and waste sectors. You will be responsible for conducting market research, financial modeling and analysis, portfolio monitoring, and overall project management. Summer Interns may also have exposure to GIP’s infrastructure investments following acquisitions or project investments, including monitoring performance of key value drivers, conducting valuations, assisting with the execution of on-going financing transactions, and tracking general investment performance. ​

All GIP Summer Interns participate in training upon joining the organization including technical and professional skill-building sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and support team on aspects of new platform investments, add-on investments, divestitures and related financings​
  • Process new investment opportunities, ranging from market assessment to competitive positioning, to initial underwriting and deal structuring​
  • Execute diligence efforts on pursued deals, including business diligence, risk underwriting, and managing external advisors
  • Build robust flexible financial models to support deal underwriting and deal structuring efforts​
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support transaction negotiations​
  • Provide hands-on support to portfolio companies

Skills/Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a strong GPA
  • Passion for investing and a keen interest in infrastructure equity or debt investments​
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail​
  • Superior analytical skills; previous financial modeling experience a plus but not required​
  • Strong quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint​
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills​
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly, manage workload effectively and deliver quality work on schedule​
  • High level of professionalism, collaboration, and self-awareness​
  • Team-oriented, highly motivated and entrepreneurial
