Team Overview

Global Investment Operations Services is a core team within GIO of highly skilled and dynamic operational professionals who share a sense of deep personal responsibility for meeting the needs of BlackRock’s clients. To consistently perform this mission, they both service and develop partnerships with key internal clients: Portfolio Managers, Traders, BlackRock Solutions, iShares, Financial Markets Advisory and our Institutional Client Business. The team works on understanding internal and external client strategic priorities to align Investment Operations projects and deliverables with stakeholders. They look to proactively engage with stakeholders to anticipate client changing needs.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Understand clients’ key business requirements across securities, derivatives, loans and liabilities

  • Monitor implementation progress and communicate strategy to client, incumbent vendors, third parties and to BlackRock partners

  • Understand client’s service requirements and collaborate model and develop processes

  • Acts as a single point of contact for all Tech and Ops related issues and connects with central project management office

  • Responsible for oversight on all aspects of the project (i.e. implementation, third party connectivity, improvements to system, etc.) and will escalate matters accordingly

  • Build and maintain Tech and Ops framework to be integrated to overall project

  • Serves as liaison and manages relationship with custodian, client and internal partners

  • Drives, controls and monitors tailored solutions such as payments for client treasury accounts, local derivatives and internal trades

  • Actively monitors risk across client workflow and implements proper controls

  • Coordinate MaRisk and BAIT compliance and ensure underlying documentation is in place.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance, collaborate closely with internal and external auditors when needed

  • Establish key performance indicators and other client reporting that is required

  • Manage third party vendor and service levels

  • Develop and establish BAU coverage, identify gaps and ensure services levels are maintained by identify and training as needed

Key Proficiencies:

  • Strong communications skills, must be able to articulate themselves in summary and/or detail level contingent on the target audience

  • Knowledgeable on all asset classes and deep understanding of middle office services

  • Highly adaptable individual who can work in a dynamic environment to be able to think out of the box and “connect the dots” within BlackRock

  • Understanding of risk protocol and impacts they on client business

  • Ability to develop deep relationship across Operations, FMA, BRS and the client

  • Project manage on large scale, communicate effectively and initiate and lead senior conversations

  • Insatiably curious, desire to learn more and ask inquisitive questions to come up with creative sustainable solutions

For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$108,000.00 - USD$153,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
