About this role

Your Team

The Portfolio Services team delivers critical operational support for alternative investment products, partnering with portfolio management teams, clients, and key service providers to ensure high-quality execution across the fund lifecycle. The team oversees fund accounting, financial reporting, operational controls, and third-party provider performance, helping to maintain accurate reporting, strong governance, and a consistent client experience. Working closely with fund administrators, auditors, fund directors, portfolio managers, and internal business partners, the team supports product launches, regulatory obligations, and ongoing operational excellence across a diverse range of investment strategies.


Your Role and Impact

As an Associate within Alternatives Fund Accounting, you will play a key role in overseeing fund administration, accounting, financial reporting, and operational processes for a broad range of alternative investment products. You will partner with internal stakeholders and external service providers to help ensure the accuracy of fund reporting, the effectiveness of operational controls, and the timely delivery of regulatory and client reporting obligations. This role offers exposure to complex investment structures and provides opportunities to contribute to process enhancements, solve accounting and operational challenges, and support the continued growth of the business.


Your Responsibilities

The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:


  • Review Net Asset Value (NAV) accounting packages and fund administration deliverables prepared by external administrators to support accurate, complete, and timely fund valuation and reporting.
  • Support the delivery of fund accounting, investor reporting, regulatory reporting, and financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with third-party administrators and internal stakeholders to maintain a strong control environment, investigate operational issues, and drive effective resolution.
  • Assist in operational overs
  • ight of complex investment products, including valuation support, data management activities, and asset and cash reconciliation processes.
  • Coordinate audit activities and contribute to the review of annual financial statements, regulatory requirements, and complex accounting matters.
  • Respond to customized reporting requests and support strategic projects for investors, clients, and business partners.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to support fund accounting, fund administration, or private fund operations for alternative investment vehicles.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles gained through industry experience or experience with a public accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with alternative investment products, including hedge funds and multiple asset classes such as public equities, fixed income, derivatives, private equity, and private debt.
  • Experience collaborating with third-party fund administrators, auditors, and other service providers within alternative investment structures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPA designation or progress toward a comparable professional accounting qualification is preferred.
For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$85,000.00 - USD$117,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
