About this role

Reporting to the APAC Head of Rewards, this role will provide strategic, project management, communications, and vendor management for BlackRock’s employee well-being programs, including programs supporting physical, financial, and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment who is fluent in English and Japanese.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of employee benefits programs across BlackRock’s health plans, life and disability insurances, retirement, and financial wellness programs.

  • Partner closely with business partners across BlackRock’s HR organization and other internal groups (e.g., Legal, Tax, Controllers, Procurement, Risk Management, Internal Communications) to build and manage project plans and drive strategic initiatives forward.

  • Stay current with leading benefit practices, develop key performance indicators (KPIs), and execute employee communications and engagement strategies to meet targets for employee benefits awareness and adoption.

  • Monitor benefit utilization and employee feedback to drive continuous program optimization.

  • Work with colleagues and consultants to help coordinate RFPs, vendor selection, and onboarding of new benefits programs and providers, including building the business case.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to respond to, research, and resolve benefit inquiries.

  • Monitor and document regional programs and processes to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and country regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with Benefits Operations and global benefits leads on vendor management and risk mitigation strategies; put in place controls and document processes to minimize associated risk.

  • Create communication campaigns, including drafting content, partnering with internal stakeholders, and managing the project plan.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of work experience in a role incorporating benefits design, strategy, communication, and engagement.

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills; able to develop relationships with people at all levels of the organization and a broad base of stakeholders.

  • Strong project management and organization skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detailed analysis of problems and identify resolutions; understands when and how to escalate issues to manage risk.

  • Advanced computer literacy: Advanced Microsoft Office/PowerPoint/Excel skills are required.

  • Results-oriented; successfully handles multiple tasks, takes initiative to improve their own performance, works intensely towards extremely challenging goals, and persists in the face of obstacles or setbacks while maintaining quality of work.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service.

  • Fiduciary mindset, passionate about creating an exemplary employee experience.

  • Able to thrive in a global and/or virtual work environment where teams may be spread amongst multiple locations.

  • Ability to handle confidential information.

  • Strong interest in and knowledge of benefits and well-being leading practices is a plus.

  • Japanese language skills are required.
