About This Role:
The iShares Equity Product Strategy Team responsible for representing the full suite of equity solutions to internal and external clients. This includes Australian and Global ETFs as well as any customized equity exposures. The team is centrally involved in the firm’s ETF thought leadership agenda, product development and marketing narratives. Critical to the success of the team is the maintenance of strong relationships with the respective portfolio management teams, marketing and distribution teams who are responsible for managing and developing BlackRock’s client relationships.
The Equity Product Strategist will help drive the commercialization of the Equity segments including Core, Factors, Income, and outcome orientated exposures. In addition to client facing meetings and events, this role will support investment insights, education, analysis, and content creation to aid and expand the commercialization of existing and new product solutions.
This role will report to the Head of iShares Equity Product Strategy for APAC ex-Japan, with a matrix reporting to Head of GPS Australia, whilst also working closely with both institutional and wealth sales leadership in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: A technical subject matter expert for our full suite of iShares equity solutions, bringing deep market and strategy expertise to bear and developing a thorough understanding of client needs. The primary focus is on the Australian wealth market.
- Drive commercialization through data analysis and insights product solutions, competitor positioning, and ETF industry developments.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the product range, including product structures, to index methodologies, investment theses, tax efficiency, performance drivers and client/portfolio use cases.
- Content Production: Oversee the maintenance and updating of existing content pieces and help produce new insights.
- Analysis and Insights: Leveraging external research, market trends, fundamental data and other tools and analytics to develop timely content that supports commercial opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work efficiently across the global equity product strategy team and partner teams (Client Distribution, Investment and Portfolio Solutions, Marketing, Portfolio Management) to drive client initiatives, provide product expertise and commercial perspective where required.
- Strategy: Assist in development and execution of our strategy as it related to equity solutions and ETF adoption.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Equity investing/ETF background with strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience.
- 5+ years’ relevant industry experience preferably with a strong knowledge of the Australian market
- Ability to develop strategic thinking with commercial market awareness and business acumen
- Presence, maturity, and credibility to effectively represent internally and externally, and confidence in engaging with internal and external client base
- Ability to develop strong and trusting relationships with both internal and external clients
- Strong team player, collaborative, and cooperative approach to tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ambitious work ethic and professional disposition
- Experience with Bloomberg, Morningstar is advantageous
