About this role

The Southern Cone Sales team serves Wealth & Institutional clients, including Asset Managers, Family Offices, Multi Family, Private Banks, Independent Advisors, Pension Funds, Insurance Companies and Corporate clients in Chile, Uruguay & Argentina. Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to clients’ investment needs.

Unified under one global client platform, the Southern Cone team is accountable for client relationships, services, and distribution of products, supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.

Role Description:

As Relationship Manager for Argentina and Uruguay, you will deepen strategic partnerships and drive commercial outcomes across priority wealth and institutional clients and prospects.

The individual in this role will develop and execute the strategy to promote the entire range of investment solutions available, which includes mainly exchange traded funds (ETFs), active mutual funds, alternative investments, whole portfolio management solutions and asset allocation ideas.

The role reports to the Head of Wealth, with dotted line to the Head of Institutional, and will be based in Santiago, Chile.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key client relationships and drive engagement to identify and pursue new potential business and retain existing business.
  • Support and drive specific and ad-hoc projects for the team’s growth strategy.
  • Drive new revenue and opportunities across products and client types.
  • Prospect and initiate brand building and sales activity with investors not currently engaged in discussions with BlackRock.
  • Work collaboratively with partners across BlackRock to meet clients’ needs and objectives and develop innovative solutions that bring the best of BlackRock. Strengthen relationships primarily with Uruguay & Argentina Wealth clients by generating investment insights, understanding clients’ needs, and leveraging on BlackRock’s platform to deliver suitable ideas and solutions.
  • Proactively cover corporate treasuries teams to diagnose needs and offer BlackRock solutions aligned to each client’s objectives, constraints, and governance.
  • Stay vigilant on regulatory and policy changes. Assess client and product implications, brief internal stakeholders and convert new rules/windows into commercial opportunities.
  • Provide timely and high-quality responses to requests and queries from clients.
  • Adopt and embody BlackRock’s principles, bringing innovation, a One BlackRock approach, passion and being fiduciary to our clients.
  • Demonstrate analytical rigor to help clients build better portfolios.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Business Administration, Economics, Civil Industrial Engineer.
  • 6 - 9 years in similar role (asset manager, Family Office) is preferred. Proven success in client‑facing coverage, sales, or advisory roles in asset/wealth management, banking, or adjacent buy‑side/consulting environments.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Extensive knowledge in Mutual Funds, ETF’s and Alternative investments is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, OneNote, etc.)
  • Strong overall sales acumen and analytical skills.
  • Highly proficient in explaining markets and in positioning/blending the benefits of active portfolios, ETFs, and models.
  • Ambitious work ethic, professional disposition, detail–oriented and a passion for investments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels and functions; can work through difficult problems and in conflict situations.
  • Flexibility in work schedule.
  • Strong team player, detail oriented and ability to collaborate internally to utilize BlackRock’s resources.
