About this role:

The Chile Institutional Business Team is responsible for distributing and promoting BlackRock´s investment products and solutions to Chilean, Argentinean, and Uruguayan Institutional clients. Among Institutional clients, we consider Pension Funds, Insurance Companies and Corporate clients.

The Team is seeking a Director to serve as Head of Institutional Sales responsible for further developing and cultivating relationships with existing clients and prospects in Chile. This role is intended to set up the commercial and marketing strategy for Institutional Clients, working closely with Country Head in defining budgets, priorities, and goals.

The role reports to Chile Country Head and will be responsible for managing a team of 2 Institutional Sales. The role will be based in Santiago, Chile.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key client relationships and drive engagement with CIOs, Portfolio Managers and Head of Segments to identify and pursue new potential business and retain existing business.
  • Primary Sales Responsible for Chilean AFPs.
  • Be the face of the firm, able to speak across the full spectrum of offerings and delivering industry leading service and client experience to institutional clients, in concrete, Pension Funds, Insurance Companies and Corporates in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
  • Lead strategic client targeting and design well-planned and engaging client meetings that uncover Client needs and interests.
  • Support and drive specific and ad-hoc projects for the team´s growth strategy.
  • Drive new revenue and opportunities across products and client types.
  • Develop and execute strategy to promote BlackRock´s full platform, including active funds, index funds, ETFs, Alternatives, Cash funds and dedicated mandates.
  • Work collaboratively with Chile Country Head and partners across BlackRock to meet clients’ needs and objectives and develop innovative solutions that bring the best of BlackRock.
  • Manage and mentor Institutional team members and add to the Team’s top performing atmosphere.
  • Represent BlackRock as an industry leader through regular participation in industry events and forums.

Skills/Qualifications:

To be successful in this role - Candidate should demonstrate many of these qualities.

  • 10-12 years of financial industry experience in similar roles. Proven experience in institutional relationship management.
  • Possess a good understanding of the Chilean institutional industry: regulation and main players.
  • BA/BS in any field, preferably in Finance or Economics. Civil Engineer. MBA a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Mutual Funds, ETF’s and  Alternative investments will be considered an advantage.
  • Be a self-motivated individual with a commitment to excellence.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • A client first attitude and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Highest ethical standards and displays both professional and personal integrity.
  • Strong intellectual ability and interpersonal skills to establish credibility with the institutional investor community and senior leaders throughout the Latam region and the Firm.
  • Collaborative and cooperative approach to a team-based sales model.
  • Strong communication skills - ability to articulate complicated concepts and systems concisely.
