About this role

The Global Marketing & Digital Wealth organization at BlackRock is a dynamic function that plays a meaningful role in helping drive the firm’s cross-functional initiatives. We specialize in a range of functions to provide campaigns, advertising, communications, training/education material, investment, and events. We are supported by global centers of excellence spanning content strategy, research & analytics, and digital platforms & experiences.


Your team:

The COO Team provides business management and oversight of the Global Marketing & Digital Wealth organization, including measurement and insights, talent strategy, operating and organizational effectiveness, and risk management.

We are seeking a Strategic Initiatives Lead based in New York or San Francisco.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the COO of Global Marketing & Digital Wealth on presentations for leadership meetings such as BlackRock’s Board of Directors and Executive committees.

  • Prepare memos and talking points for business objectives, priorities/updates and other strategic topics in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)

  • Synthesize information into concise communications tailored for audiences (executives, partners, teams).

  • Support and project-manage cross-functional strategic initiatives; build and manage project plans, overseeing interdependencies and risks.

  • Support internal communications and engagement strategies for initiatives.

  • Translate data and insights into actionable strategies aligned with business priorities.

You have...

  • 5 or more years of experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, chief-of-staff/COO support, or financial services/asset management.

  • The ability to lead multiple priorities simultaneously while being detail-oriented

  • A knack for being adaptable and proactive, with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

  • Interest in financial services, digital wealth, and marketing strategy.

  • AI experience in content creation, presentations and idea generation

  • Executive communication: Strong writing and presentation skills; proven ability to create high-quality materials for senior and board-level audiences.

  • Strategic thinking: Ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop frameworks, and synthesize insights into clear recommendations.

  • Analytical ability: Comfortable working with data, distilling key trends, and connecting analysis to strategic implications.

  • Project management skills: Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives, managing timelines, and driving accountability.

  • Stakeholder management: Skilled at building trusted relationships across senior leaders and diverse teams.

For San Francisco, CA and New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
