Job description
About this role
Aladdin Strategic Relationship Manager, Vice President — Aladdin Client Engagement
Aladdin® is BlackRock's enterprise investment management platform, connecting the information, people, and technology needed to manage money in real time. The platform combines risk analytics with portfolio management, trading, compliance, operations, accounting, and data tools on a single platform to power informed decision-making, effective risk management, efficient trading, and operational scale. Aladdin supports a community of over 200 institutional clients around the world, including some of the largest and most complex investment organizations globally. Aladdin Client Engagement is responsible for maximizing the value of the Aladdin relationship through strategic engagement, product education, and trusted partnership — working closely with clients to be their consultant, problem solver, and business partner.
We are seeking a Vice President to join our Aladdin Client Engagement team as a Strategic Relationship Manager supporting complex institutional clients. This is a client-facing role for someone who can serve as the account quarterback for sophisticated, multi-stakeholder relationships — managing the operating rhythm of client engagement while identifying and driving commercial growth opportunities. The ideal candidate combines strong relationship management instincts with commercial acumen, product curiosity, operational discipline, and comfort using AI and data tools to scale their impact. You will work with clients across the institutional investment landscape whose investment programs span public and private markets, with sophisticated governance structures, broad asset class coverage, and senior stakeholders across investment, operations, risk, technology, and finance. You will partner cross-functionally with product, service, implementation, sales, legal, finance, and business development teams to deliver an integrated, high-quality client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Own and support day-to-day engagement with senior stakeholders (CIO, COO, CTO, CFO, Heads of Investment, Operations, Risk, and Technology) at complex institutional clients. Develop deep understanding of each client's business objectives, operating model, investment workflows, governance structure, and technology priorities.
- Commercial Growth: Identify, shape, progress, and help close growth opportunities across the existing client base. Develop and maintain account plans, stakeholder maps, and pipeline views. Support renewal preparation, pricing and commercial discussions, proposal coordination, and internal approval processes. Connect client needs to Aladdin capabilities and translate that into actionable commercial opportunities.
- Account Operations and Client Orchestration: Serve as the operating backbone of client relationships. Own meeting agendas, follow-ups, action tracking, CRM updates, issue escalation, and stakeholder coordination. Prepare executive-ready client materials including QBR content, steering committee decks, internal briefings, and client proposals. Manage practical commercial operations including billing inquiries, contract coordination, renewal preparation, and ensuring internal teams are aligned on client commitments.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with sales, product, service, implementation, legal, finance, and business development teams to execute on client priorities. Build strong internal relationships across the Aladdin Business and the wider BlackRock organization globally in support of your clients.
- Platform and Industry Fluency: Build and maintain working fluency across Aladdin's broader capabilities — including portfolio management, risk, analytics, compliance, operations, accounting, data, reporting, APIs, and platform integrations. Explain complex product, investment, and industry concepts clearly to senior business, investment, operations, technology, and finance stakeholders. Stay current on regulatory, market, and operational trends relevant to institutional investors and the broader buy-side ecosystem.
- AI, Data, and Productivity: Use AI, data, and automation tools to improve personal and team productivity — including synthesizing meeting notes, preparing executive summaries, analyzing client information, identifying account trends, automating repetitive workflows, and improving the speed and quality of client engagement.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in relationship management, account management, consulting, client service, sales, solution delivery, or enterprise technology within financial services or FinTech
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex investment, technology, data, and operating model concepts for senior stakeholders
- Commercial mindset with demonstrated experience supporting growth, renewals, client expansion, strategic account planning, or pipeline development
- Strong organizational discipline and ability to manage multiple workstreams, follow-ups, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously
- Familiarity with buy-side investment management workflows, institutional investment organizations, or enterprise investment technology
- Comfort using AI and data tools to improve productivity, synthesize information, and support better client engagement
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional, global environment and can operate with limited direction while maintaining high standards
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Aladdin, eFront, or other enterprise investment platforms, including investment data platforms, APIs, reporting, analytics, or operating model transformation
- Experience working with institutional investors, asset managers, asset owners, insurers, official institutions, wealth platforms, asset servicers, or financial technology providers
- Familiarity with public and private market workflows, including risk, performance, operations, accounting, data management, and reporting
- Experience using AI tools, workflow automation, prompt engineering, SQL, Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis tools to scale coverage and improve productivity
- CFA, FRM, CAIA, CIMA, or other relevant investment or technology certifications are helpful but not required
