About this Role

We are looking for a Director to join the Commercial Strategy & Strategic Partnerships team within our SMA Solutions business unit.  The Commercial Strategy & Strategic Partnerships team is responsible for leading commercial strategy efforts for the business, driving new and innovative product solutions, and engaging with our largest and most complex strategic partners. The Director will be responsible for leading development and execution of the SMA Solutions product roadmap.  The role is multi-faceted and will help position the SMA business of the future, by innovating on new product solutions and combinations.  Many of our product solutions are in a growth position and the individual who fills this role will play an integral part of finding synergies in capabilities and unifying our product suite.    

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Lead and drive SMA Solutions Product Roadmap for SMA Solutions – primarily Equity & Bonds – and including product combinations and innovations
  •   Chair the SMA Solutions Product Committee – in place for prioritizing, approving, and monitoring product development and launch initiatives
  •  Ideate on new and innovative features and products - partner with strategists, research, PM, Fundamental Equity and GFI, GPS, to understand BlackRock product initiatives and opportunities
  •  Develop plan and project manage new products and combinations
  • Understand client needs and requirements via voice-of-client research
  • Develop keen understanding of industry trends and capabilities
  • Work with internal and 3rd party partners to understand technical and operational requirements for execution
  • Partner with Global Product, US Wealth, Portfolio Management, and Institutional client teams to ensure appropriate positioning of SMA’s within broader firm initiatives and product campaigns
  • SMA Solutions lead to partner with teams on Whole Portfolio initiatives
  • Effectively balance strategic and ad hoc projects

Qualifications:

  • Experienced product manager with track record of innovation, development, and launches of product
  • Ability to lead and influence large, cross-functional virtual teams
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
  • Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, complex environment
  • Experience with retail financial advisor industry and familiarity with separately managed accounts a strong plus
  • Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate objectives and influence outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated analytical ability
  • Effective public speaking and communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn and understand all aspects of the SMA business

Requirements:

  • 8-15 years of relevant asset management industry experience with SMA experience preferred
  • Knowledge of capital markets, portfolio construction
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills- Excel, PowerPoint, Word - and experience with Project management tools


For San Francisco, CA and New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$194,000.00 - USD$270,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.


For Princeton, NJ Only the salary range for this position is USD$184,000.00 - USD$25,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
