About this role
The US iShares Equity ETF team is seeking a Vice President / Director factor product strategist focused on commercial strategy, client engagement, and business growth for the US iShares Factor platform. This individual will serve as a senior subject matter expert responsible for driving distribution strategy and adoption of factor-based ETFs across US Wealth Advisory (USWA), Institutional, and platform partners.
Successful individuals in this role will thrive in an analytical, deeply collaborative, and high-performance environment. They will utilize their knowledge of the unique needs of different client segments in USWA (including RIA, National Accounts, Bank Wealth, Wires, Independents, etc.) to drive commercial initiatives including supporting new product innovation, scaling new products, training sales partners, and developing educational content for clients. They will utilize their knowledge of the iShares factor ETF product lineup and portfolio construction, including but not limited to, having knowledge of research on factor investing.
The Factor product segment is a strategic priority for iShares, representing a growing and comprehensive range covering approximately $200 billion in assets under management. The product segment includes index and active products from single factor, multi-factor, dividends, and liquid alternatives. Effective client engagement, strong commercial instincts, development of innovative narratives and investment insights, and ability to deliver clear and engaging messaging will be key to succeeding in the role.
Key Responsibilities
Product Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of the product range, from fund structures to index methodologies, investment theses and client use cases. Support product pipeline prioritization, positioning, and innovation efforts across the factors platform.
Client and Market Engagement: Serve as a senior representative for the US factors platform in client meetings, deliver presentations at client events, conferences, roadshows, webinars, and internal educational forums.
Thought Leadership and Content Development: Lead the development of investment insights, competitive comparisons, educational content, and market commentary that increase adoption of factor-based investing.
Commercial Strategy: Identify emerging commercial opportunities through analysis of client demand, market trends, industry flows, and competitive dynamics. Develop and execute commercialization strategies that align product, distribution, and marketing priorities.
Leadership: Manage and develop a team with members in NY and SF. Partner across Product Strategy, Product Development, Portfolio Management, Research, Sales, Marketing, and Communications teams to drive strategic commercial projects.
Skills & Qualifications
BA/BS degree required, MBA, MFE, or CFA preferred, Series 7&63 required within 6 months of starting
Travel required
7-12+ years of relevant industry experience and proven client-facing capability required, specifically investment management knowledge. Experience/expertise with Factor and/or Systematic investing is preferred.
ETF product familiarity and direct industry experience required
Strong technical and analytical skills, with ability to synthesize complex information and communicate technical concepts to a varied audience, both written and verbally.
Knowledge and experience of investment systems such as FactSet, Bloomberg and Morningstar preferred.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity and ethics
