BlackRock Whole Portfolio Pillar Vice President/Director – Platform and Partnerships Lead

The US Wealth Portfolio Design and Services Pillar team is responsible for product development and commercialization of our portfolio design businesses - one of the fastest growing and most innovative product areas at BlackRock.  The Platform and Partnerships Lead will be at the epicenter of some of the most exciting areas of fintech and investments. We are looking for a VP/Director to join the team to deliver our whole portfolio offering - combining funds, private markets, SMAs and options into a single portfolio for high-net-worth investors. The role is multi-faceted and will help catapult the business into the future by bringing our multi-vehicle offering to market through partnerships with wealth management/fintech platforms. Our solutions are in growth position and the individual who fills this role will play an integral part in developing and implementing strategies that drive the future of BlackRock’s business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify industry trends and ideate on new product and platform opportunities
  • Drive the acceleration of BlackRock Whole Portfolios on wealth tech platforms with strategic partners
  • Work directly with RIAs, wealth management firms and advisors to consult on the fintech landscape and platforms
  • Lead negotiations and work closely with legal and vendor management to develop contracts, terms and conditions and statements of work
  • Define user experiences including workflows and UX designs
  • Determine the service model including processes and service level agreements
  • Coordinate and project manage required tech and ops integrations including Aperio and Fixed Income SMA, private markets, SpiderRock option strategies, Advisor Center, model delivery and more
  • Work closely with colleagues in product, marketing, National Accounts and Sales to support marketing, training and sales activation
  • Identify emerging additional fintech solutions for consideration and evaluation
  • Handle on-going relationship management including enhancements and service model

Skills:

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
  • Experience with wealth tech platforms including TAMPS, wealth management workstations, UMAs and digital alts platforms
  • Understanding of model portfolios and SMAs - knowledge of private markets and option overlays a plus
  • Ability to lead large, cross-functional virtual teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated analytical ability
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, complex environment
  • A genuine inclination for designing effective processes and the ability to work through complex problems and challenges to provide innovative insights
  • Experience with retail financial advisor industry and portfolios a strong plus
  • Investment expertise and positioning of outsourced wealth solutions

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant asset management industry experience with some Managed Account (SMA) experience preferred
  • BA/BS degree required
  • NASD series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses
  • Basic knowledge of industry landscape, capital markets and portfolio construction
