About this role

Overview:

Product management is a key component of BlackRock’s ETF strategy to maintain and grow our leadership position in the asset management industry. The team focuses on U.S. Listed iShares ETFs across asset classes, through pre and post launch, engaging in strategic and commercial projects to drive business initiatives and expand and maintain an industry leading product range.

The position bridges the pre-launch and post-launch phases of product lifecycle, with a focus on supporting fund board engagement, product oversight and cross platform initiatives which support long term product excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities involve supporting the U.S. Head of iShares Product on strategic priorities, including new products, range management, and enhancements across our ETF and Index Funds. This role will collaborate cross functionally with teams including product research, structuring, strategy, sales, risk management, investment strategy, portfolio management, and index providers.

Example Pre-Launch Highlights

  • Contribute to the final stages of ETF product development by supporting and tracking required documentation and forums for launch

  • Collaborate with internal partners (i.e. legal, compliance, innovation, BlackRock global markets) to ensure products are well positioned for fund board engagement

  • Assist with preparing and reviewing board materials related to new product launches and enhancements

Example Post-Launch Highlights

  • Act as a champion of product integrity, ensuring the quality of ETF products and ensuring congruence with overall platform

  • Contribute to strategic product management projects; support range management by monitoring existing products, partnering with client facing teams, product innovation and BlackRock global markets to identify opportunities for refinement, repositioning and managing fund lifecycle  

  • Coordinate platform-wide initiatives that impact multiple ETF products (i.e. regulatory changes, operational enhancements)

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in asset management

  • Prior experience in product development and/or product management

  • Highly organized and able to manage to tight deadlines

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across many stakeholders

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication

  • Detail oriented mindset with a strong commitment to product quality and integrity

  • Familiarity with our governance processes and/or experience drafting or reviewing board materials a plus

  • Attention to detail and ability to pick up and digest new information quickly

For San Francisco, CA and NY7 - 50 Hudson Yards, New York Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
