About this role

About BlackRock:
Are you interested in building innovative technology that crafts the financial markets? Do you like working at the speed of a startup, and solving some of the world’s most exciting challenges? Do you want to work with, and learn from, hands-on leaders in technology and finance?

At BlackRock, we are looking for Product Managers who like to innovate and solve sophisticated problems. We recognize that strength comes from diversity, and will embrace your outstanding skills, curiosity, and passion while giving you the opportunity to grow technically and as an individual.

We invest and protect over $11 trillion (USD) of assets and have an extraordinary responsibility to our clients all over the world. Our technology empowers millions of investors to save for retirement, pay for college, buy a home, and improve their financial well-being.

Being a technologist at BlackRock means you get the best of both worlds: working for one of the most sophisticated financial companies and being part of a software development team responsible for next generation technology and solutions.

Team Overview:
eFront, a part of BlackRock, is a market leader for end-to-end Private Markets investment solutions. The Private Markets team within Aladdin Product Management stands at the forefront of innovation, tackling some of the firm’s most complex challenges as private markets become an increasingly vital part of client portfolios. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to help accelerate our business, building on our success and shaping the product’s direction in close collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.

Serving as a Reporting Product Manager within this dynamic group puts you at the center of this evolution, empowering you to help define top priorities for the business and work seamlessly across engineering, sales, and client engagement functions.

Role Overview:
Our Private Markets product managers play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of solutions for our clients and for BlackRock. In this role, you will be responsible for our data platform—defining how we store, model, and deliver private markets data sets to power client reporting, streamline data processes, and enable robust system integrations. You will engage with a range of database technologies and API frameworks to deliver a market-leading experience to users, and help define the strategy for enabling private markets data within BlackRock’s Whole Portfolio solution.

Success in this position means partnering with stakeholders from across the organization and our client base to accelerate the development of innovative products, drive meaningful results, and ensure our reporting technology brings the best of eFront and Aladdin to our clients.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of private markets at BlackRock, bringing both technical expertise and a client-focused mindset to every initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define product strategy, vision, and roadmap, aligning development with business objectives and client needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, supporting cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Sales, Professional Services, and Customer Support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Articulate business value and product intent to delivery teams to ensure understanding and effective execution of new releases and features.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Integrate client feedback and requests into product planning and development processes to continuously improve the offering.
  • Lead product governance forums and working groups, coordinate agendas, and summarize decisions, next steps, and product readiness for stakeholders.
  • Generate, develop, and prioritize new product ideas, ensuring alignment with key objectives for the product line and BlackRock.
  • Define feature requirements, use cases, user stories, user journey maps, process documents, and data definitions to guide complete product delivery.
  • Plan, manage, and communicate release schedules, including tracking phases, milestones, features, user stories, and dependencies within and across releases.
  • Partner with engineering to determine technical solutions and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with User Experience teams to harmonize product design with reporting features and APIs across eFront products.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in product management, engineering, private markets, databases (such as SQL or Snowflake), data modeling, reporting, and/or working with APIs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the confidence to present information and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and to clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous situations and proactively addressing complex business challenges.
  • Ability to operate independently and take initiative in driving product strategy forward.
  • Sound commercial judgment, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and deliver results efficiently.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to lead and influence within cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
