Business Unit Overview:
This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Sales Development Representative (Analyst) to join our New York-based Sales Development team supporting the Aladdin Client Business within the private market and investment data space. This role is focused on identifying and engaging target prospects, qualifying inbound and outbound interest, and setting high-quality meetings for Sales partners. You’ll work closely with Account Executives and Marketing to build early-stage pipeline and contribute to a high-performing, metrics-driven team.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute consultative outbound prospecting across email, phone, and social channels to engage priority accounts and personas.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads through discovery conversations; assess fit, urgency, stakeholders, and next steps.
- Schedule qualified meetings and provide clear handoff notes (objective, stakeholder context, key findings, and hypotheses).
- Maintain excellent CRM hygiene: accurate activity logging, contact/account updates, and lead dispositioning.
- Partner with Account Executives and Marketing to align on target lists, messaging, and campaign follow-up.
- Track performance against SDR KPIs and contribute to weekly pipeline and activity reporting.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, client-facing, or related roles.
- Familiarity or strong interest in alternative investments, financial services, data/analytics solutions, or SaaS environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a goal- and metrics-driven environment.
- Strong organization and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Experience cold calling, prospecting into enterprise accounts, and navigating multi-stakeholder buying groups.
- Experience with CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, etc).
- A desire to be a phenomenal teammate, able to integrate and build rapport quickly
