BlackRock Aladdin is uniquely positioned to address the industry’s risk management, portfolio construction and financial technology demands. The various business departments within Aladdin are focused on providing clients with highly scalable portfolio analytics, risk management, liability-driven investing, pension solutions, regulatory advice, and balance sheet strategy.
The Aladdin Wealth Tech (AWT) team partners with wealth management clients to help them oversee their enterprise risk, build better portfolios, and enhance their value proposition to clients. This is achieved by leveraging risk analytics - powered by Aladdin® - to equip wealth management clients with model construction capabilities, risk monitoring tools, and portfolio construction & analytics.
The Aladdin Wealth Techteam is responsible for leading the design and deployment of our wealth technologies for clients. This includes enterprise technology sold to external clients and digital distribution technology that enable BlackRock’s investment sales in the wealth channel. Our clients include wirehouses, private banks, independent wealth managers, and investment platforms across the globe, as well as BlackRock’s wealth and manufacturing teams. Our client engagement team is responsible for these clients, helping them to achieve challenging strategic objectives ranging from streamlining operations to modernizing investment processes. We view ourselves as a partner to our clients in tackling important initiatives that ultimately drive their business success.
Position Description
We are looking for a candidate to join the Aladdin Wealth Tech Client Engagement team to focus on deepening our technology relationship with BlackRock’s wealth teams and developing new opportunities for our technology to empower their business. Successfully performing this role will require working closely with our clients to be their trusted consultant, problem solver, and business partner. This candidate will be responsible for working strategically with BlackRock wealth teams to identify and deliver new technologies and workflows to better enable sales of BlackRock investment products, including engagement with external distribution platforms as needed. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in Financial Technology to gain experience working with the world’s largest asset manager to deliver the best of BlackRock to the wealth market.
Key Responsibilities
Evolve and action Aladdin Wealth Tech’s digital distribution strategy in partnership with BlackRock’s wealth teams.
Understand BlackRock wealth teams’ business challenges and propose solutions leveraging Aladdin that drive value and adoption.
Drive our responses to the evolving wealth market with new technology solutions that support the firm’s overall wealth ambitions.
Engage in a consultative process to communicate as well as demonstrate Aladdin Wealth Tech’s unique value proposition.
Establish strong personal relationships and foster a collaborative partnership with BlackRock’s wealth teams, creating mutually beneficial outcomes.
Develop strong internal relationships with all groups within Aladdin Wealth Tech to ensure excellent client experience and convey client requirement holistically.
Engage with critical distribution partners in the wealth ecosystem to ensure Aladdin Wealth Tech solutions are integrated with advisor workflows.
Contribute innovative ideas to Aladdin’s product group based on clients’ needs of a fast-evolving marketplace.
Keep updated on wealth industry trends to help your clients stay ahead of changing times.
Serve as a subject matter knowledge lead on AWT’s digital distribution tools.
Help onboard additional client business use cases by liaising across client, product, and other adjacent teams.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess some combination of all the following:
5-7 years of work experience. Previous experience in a financial technology firm or a wealth organization.
Strong track record of delivering for clients (internal or external)
Ability to work across organizational functional lines and be effective.
Technologically aware to be conversant with clients and visualize opportunities. Technology knowledge is important, but a programming skillset is not necessary.
Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and independently, demonstrating strength in problem-solving.
Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to clients.
Committed to gaining relevant knowledge, skills and experience to stay up-to-date as the industry evolves.
Education: undergraduate degree (bachelor’s degree), business or technical discipline preferred, Master’s degree or professional certification a plus
