Job Duties: Perform analysis and research on securities using statistical methods and machine learning including natural language processing. Utilize large and unconventional data sources to identify and test market patterns related to sustainability. Develop valuation approaches, improve mathematical models and convert algorithms into code. Back test and implement trading models and signals for BSII strategy. Design, develop, and deploy code to be used by other quantitative researchers. Partner with investment, risk and client-facing teams to understand their business problems and provide differentiated, creative solutions using Aladdin analytics. Develop a broad understanding of analytics, markets, and Aladdin's capabilities, by utilizing analytical models, reports and large-scale data processing tools to help investment teams and clients manage their portfolio risk, exposure and performance. Perform special analyses in response to market events, new business needs and client needs. Improve operational efficiencies to enable scalable business growth, by working with technology and analytics groups across BlackRock to build and deliver scalable customized solutions leveraging Aladdin APIs and the Aladdin Data Sciences platform.

Qualifications: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field. In the alternative, Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field; and 24 months experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires any experience with Master's or 24 months of experience with a Bachelor's involving the following: 1. Build infrastructure and data pipelines to scale and centralize research and analytics for multi-asset investment teams; 2. Utilize SQL and Python to conduct statistical analysis; 3. Statistical techniques and experience in real life applications (statistical, time-series, machine learning, natural language processing, deep learning); 4. Using data science algorithms to provide tactical solutions to asset teams to support end-to-end investment processes; 5. Support daily to day analytics procedures in a data research environment including risk and attribution reports.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $138,200 - $147,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
