About this role

The US Wealth Portfolio Design and Services Pillar team is responsible for product development and commercialization of our portfolio design businesses - one of the fastest growing and most innovative product areas at BlackRock.  We are looking for an Associate to join the team to manage the business operations of our whole portfolio business with a focus on traditional models. The role will span the entire lifecycle of the models business including industry insights, financials/budgeting and sales activation/marketing.

Whole Portfolio Associate Example Responsibilities:

  • Manage operational and service functions across whole portfolio implementation partnerships (55ip, Vestmark, etc.)

  • Play key role in supporting the whole portfolio commercialization team including sales training, activation and marketing

  • Partner closely with the sales team and strategic accounts to support field inquiries on whole portfolio

  • Analyze and glean insights from industry reports and news sources to keep the team informed of trends, opportunities and competitive threats

  • Develop content to ensure the whole portfolio narrative, roadmap and results are clear to the marketplace and internal stakeholders/senior leadership.

  • Work collaboratively and coordinate with partners within BlackRock to meet project deadlines and goals

  • In partnership with COO & FP&A, lead reporting and financial management activities required for the whole product portfolio offering

  • Provide accurate and timely data analysis and analytical support for budgeting, quarterly reporting, projections, etc.

Skills:

  • Flexible, responsive and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, complex environment

  • A genuine inclination for quantitative analysis and the ability to work through complex problems and challenges to provide innovative insights

  • Experience with retail wealth management and/or asset management and established industry knowledge

  • Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills including ability to manage projects independently

  • Baseline expertise in models, ETFs, mutual funds, separate accounts and private markets

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated analytical ability

  • Effective public speaking and communication skills

  • Eagerness to learn and understand all aspects of SMA and model portfolio business

  • Ability to Effectively balance strategic and ad hoc projects

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of relevant asset management industry experience with some Managed Account experience preferred

  • BA/BS degree required

  • NASD series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
