Generating alpha is core to the foundation and heart of BlackRock. Alpha Marketing leads marketing for BlackRock’s alpha-generating platforms across active EQ, active FI, multi-asset strategies and alternatives. Our mission is to help BlackRock’s partners and clients to achieve the alpha so critical to their investment needs and objectives. We are responsible for building BlackRock’s active and alternatives brands and marketing our full range of investment vehicles across client segments globally.

Role and impact

The Alpha Marketing team’s Content Strategist will help set BlackRock’s active, multi-asset and alternatives strategy for content generation and distribution across mediums (video, audio, written) and platforms (web, social media, etc.). They’ll partner with asset class, regional and content teams across the firm, and power distribution and analysis of our content to deliver impactful insights. They’ll work to create more efficient workflows, using tech tools and analyzing data to optimize content production and distribution. As a member of the Alpha Marketing team, this candidate will help foster a culture of inclusion and collaboration, where diverse perspectives are valued and celebrated.

Responsibilities

  • Strategize with Cross-Functional Content Teams: Work closely with content creators, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to align content with overall marketing goals and brand messaging. 
  • Execute Monthly Content Calendar: Coordinate with content teams across the firm, comms team, and our Alpha Marketing team to ensure content plans are up to date and can be coordinated with all other firm marketing activity.
  • Project Management: We have various flagship content assets that require driving and coordinating teams to ensure progress of the content creation, synchronization of all of the elements, and meeting deadlines.   
  • Distribution: Post new content across the internal and external ecosystem.
  • Writing: Able to write short-form ancillary content.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Help establish and track key content metrics (views, engagement, leads) to identify performance trends, analyze audience behavior, and provide actionable insights to improve content strategy. 
  • Content Audit and Gap Analysis: Regularly review existing content to identify areas for improvement, such as outdated information, gaps in topic coverage, and potential optimization opportunities. 
  • Content Technology Implementation and Optimization: Promote cross-team usage of AirTable to manage content creation, publishing, and updates, ensuring consistency across channels to enhance collaboration. 
  • Workflow Management: Help streamline content creation processes, including ideation, assigning tasks, managing editorial calendars, and tracking progress across different content teams.

Required skills:

  • Understanding of content marketing principles: Awareness of best practices for creating high-quality, engaging content that aligns with target audience needs and business priorities. 
  • Project management: Effectively manage multiple content projects, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing tasks. 
  • Technology proficiency: Familiarity with various content and marketing tools and data analytics platforms. 
  • Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and use insights to inform content strategy. 
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate content strategy and performance insights.

You have…

  • 3+ years’ experience in investment marketing, product strategy, journalism or similar
  • A desire to win hearts and minds in helping clients pursue performance
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in multiple content mediums (web, social, etc.)
  • An understanding of asset management concepts and clients

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$100,000.00 - USD$130,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
