Team Overview:
BlackRock’s Finance & Strategy (F&S) organization is a global team that partners across the firm to drive financial discipline, strategic decision-making, and operational excellence. The Business Management team within F&S supports the group’s Executive Committee by overseeing day-to-day operations, managing headcount and resources, and driving execution of the group’s operating plan.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join the F&S Business Management team in New York. This role provides critical analytical support to senior leadership, with a focus on headcount and resource management, financial reporting, and process optimization.
This role offers significant exposure to leadership across F&S, with the opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives and strategic planning.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support financial planning and headcount management processes
Maintain data from multiple sources to support critical reporting and decision-making
Prepare and present financial reports with clear narratives to senior leadership
Coordinate with Talent Acquisition and other stakeholders to manage hiring pipelines and requisitions
Oversee day-to-day headcount operations, including Workday position management and requisition tracking
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline data and reporting processes, exploring and applying AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance reporting and workflow efficiency where possible
Lead coordination efforts for the weekly calendar and agenda for the Global Executive Committee (senior-most executive group), in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer's Chief of Staff
Support other strategic initiatives and critical processes as is required
Skills, Qualifications & Qualities:
1-3 years of experience
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH); proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments without compromising high quality work in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Effective communicator and collaborator across teams and levels
High level of discretion when handling sensitive information
Team player with strong work ethic and resilience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Consulting, or Corporate Strategy
Familiarity with headcount planning or workforce analytics
Exposure to enterprise systems like Workday or SAP
Interest in application of technology / AI and automation in finance
