About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Director to lead and grow our Family Office business in Germany. The successful candidate will drive new business development, manage and expand existing relationships, and serve as a key partner to sophisticated Family Office clients across Germany.

The role demands a strategic business-builder with a strong understanding of private and public market investments, the ability to translate investment strategies into actionable client plans, and a collaborative mindset to work across BlackRock’s internal ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement a growth strategy for the Family Office segment in Germany
  • Define and track success metrics (e.g., share of wallet, product penetration, mandate wins)
  • Prioritise client coverage and resource allocation based on commercial impact
  • Assess the potential for CIO offerings in the region and evolve the proposition accordingly
  • Provide regional leadership and contribute to the development of team culture and talent

Business Development & Client Management

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with large Single- and Multi-Family Offices
  • Deliver tailored solutions aligned with client objectives across asset classes and structures
  • Identify and pursue new business through strategic, consultative sales engagement
  • Proactively manage existing accounts, identifying and defending at-risk relationships
  • Lead and support cross-functional client pitches, roadshows, and reviews

Platform & Product Expertise

  • Develop fluency across BlackRock’s full platform, including ETFs, private markets, multi-asset strategies, OCIO, and bespoke solutions
  • Engage with portfolio managers, investment strategists, and subject-matter experts to deliver best-in-class advice
  • Serve as a conduit between clients and internal product, legal, and servicing teams

Team Collaboration & Thought Leadership

  • Act as a senior leader within the EMEA Family Office team, contributing to firmwide initiatives
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues, fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture
  • Represent the firm in industry forums and client events, raising the profile of BlackRock in the Family Office space

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales, relationship management, business development within Family Office segment
  • Proven track record of commercial success in Germany
  • Deep knowledge of both public and private markets; strong ability to articulate complex investment strategies to sophisticated investors
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with a strategic approach to sales and relationship management
  • Fluency in German and English is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Strong team player and cultural leader; able to collaborate across functions and geographies

Our hybrid work model
