About this role
The Business Analyst / Team Lead for the Data Management i-Hub in Mumbai is responsible for leading requirements gathering, coordinating delivery across a team of developers, and ensuring high-quality data management, reporting, and workflow solutions for Private Markets. This role demands deep business and operational understanding, strong analytical and technical capabilities, and the ability to translate complex investment and operational needs into scalable, efficient data and analytics solutions. The individual will oversee development work across SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and Power Apps, guiding the team to deliver reliable, well-governed, and value-driven outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, elicitation, and documentation for data, reporting, and workflow solutions supporting Private Markets.
- Partner with investment, operations, risk, and technology stakeholders to understand business processes, data flows, and pain points.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications for the development team.
- Validate and approve solution designs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, data governance principles, and platform standards. Monitor platform performance, operational processes, and data quality issues, driving remediation and optimization efforts.
- Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly to global leads and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation covering requirements, designs, processes, and operational workflows. Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement for data management and reporting platforms.
Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight
- Lead and mentor a team of developers within the Data Management i-Hub, ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to delivery timelines.
- Oversee development across SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and Power Apps, providing hands-on guidance where needed.
- Manage sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and workflow coordination across multiple projects.
- Enforce development best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between global product owners and the Mumbai development team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 6–10 years of experience in business analysis, product delivery, or data/operations roles, ideally within Private Markets.
- Strong exposure to private equity or alternative investments, with a solid understanding of investment lifecycles, operations, and data needs.
- Proven track record leading teams or overseeing technical delivery within a data management or analytics environment.
- Hands-on working experience with SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and Power Apps.
- Prior experience working in global delivery models or cross-regional teams is a plus.
- Good SQL proficiency and the ability to work with Snowflake data models and pipelines.
- Experience with Power BI (datasets, semantic models, DAX) and familiarity with dashboard design best practices.
- Working knowledge of Power Apps for workflow and operational solution development.
Deep understanding of private markets business processes, operational workflows, and data structures.
- Excellent requirements-gathering, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience guiding development teams.
- Exceptional communication skills for engaging both business and technology stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive consensus, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-moving environment
