BlackRock’s Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS) supports over $200B in private market assets globally. The Alternatives Operations team enables dynamic investment strategies across private equity, Private credit, loan syndication, real estate, hedge funds, commodities, and structured products. Our integrated approach leverages BlackRock’s strengths in risk management, product development, client service, and operational excellence.

Team Overview

The Global Alternatives Transactions Services (GATS) team in Mumbai is part of the broader Global Alternatives Operations group. The team provides end-to-end middle office support for alternative investments, including trade capture, settlement, and data dissemination to downstream systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage transactional data for alternative products by sourcing from legal documents and third-party notices, and inputting into internal systems.

  • Act as a Point of Contact for all external investment managers with regards to life cycle of our deals.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of onboarding processes for new investments, including trade lifecycle, cash management, valuation, PnL recognition, and reconciliation.

  • Assist in trade execution and authorize cash payments to external fund managers.

  • Perform cash and asset reconciliations between internal systems (e.g., Aladdin) and custodians.

  • Ensure relevant controls are in place and are being diligently adhered to by the team members to operate in a risk-controlled environment.

  • Provide requisite oversight on daily and Adhoc process and assist the team in dealing with issues, escalations and complicated scenarios.

  • Collaborate with external service providers and internal teams to exchange product and asset data and resolve operational issues.

  • Maintain and regularly update process documentation and control frameworks.

  • Engage in cross-functional initiatives and group-level projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

  • Experience: 5–7 years in operations, data management, accounting, or administration, with a focus on alternative investment funds.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Attention to detail

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Deep understanding of alternative investment products (hedge funds, structured products, private equity).

  • Leadership and team collaboration.

  • Proficiency in Excel.
