About this role
Regulatory Solutions is a growing team at BlackRock, responsible for designing, implementing, and handling all regulatory processes. As part of the Technology and Operations function, which comprises about one-third of BlackRock's employees, this team plays a crucial role. They handle many of the firm's most sophisticated and crucial regulatory reporting processes and serve as the link between Legal & Compliance, Technology, and Operations teams. Working in Regulatory Operations offers opportunities and challenges to develop skills and make a significant impact within the business.
We are looking for a Controls Analyst to:
Join our local team in Mumbai, supporting the broader Global Regulatory Solutions team.
Ensure the production and quality control of ESG data for BlackRock's Sustainability calculation process, which is vital for regulatory and industry standard reporting. This process delivers essential ESG data, providing clients with transparency and demonstrating our dedication to sustainability.
Be responsible for data gathering, validation, and submission processes related to ESG on a global scale.
Responsibilities
Ownership of data production and quality control (QC) processes.
Drive the resolution of QC breaks and critical issues.
Develop expertise to handle the most challenging issues within the data reporting process.
Serve as a key member of our Controls team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of regulatory and industry-standard disclosures.
Contribute critically to the end-to-end process, including the sourcing of off-platform data.
Identify trends and provide key performance statistics to improve processes.
Drive improvements and automation in controls, thereby reducing our risk profile.
Collaborate with technology and business team partners to support key business objectives.
Knowledge/Experience
A college degree in finance or a related field is required.
A minimum of 3 years of operational experience in a financial reporting or regulatory environment is preferred.
Strong numerical skills and the ability to work with data accurately and effectively.
Proven ability to identify, prioritize, and develop practical solutions for issues.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Personal accountability for results and the ability to take ownership of outcomes.
Efficient work planning and prioritization skills for both individual and team tasks.
Self-motivated with the initiative to generate ideas without prompting.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly articulate QC results and data issues to the VP, and Controls team.
Technical proficiency with in-house applications, strong Excel skills, and a preference for SQL skills and/or automation experience.
