About this role

Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock Finance and Strategy consist of professionals in disciplines such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, Tax, Financial Controls, Global Strategic Sourcing, Finance Platform Support, Controllers, Strategy, and Corporate Development. Within the Controllers’ Group, the Financial & Prudential Reporting (“FPR”) team plays a key role in reporting the financial results for all legal entities within the EMEA region. These results are presented monthly in accordance with US GAAP and quarterly under IFRS. Key outputs include management accounts, board reports, regulatory returns and statutory accounts.

Job Purpose/Background:

The FPR Manager will be responsible for the delivery of financial reporting for a number of legal entities, including management accounts, quarterly returns and annual financial statements, alongside process enhancements, project work and the provision of support to legal entity controllers across EMEA and APAC.  In order to deliver this, the FPR Manager will develop and enhance strong relationships with other parts of Finance, cross functional teams outside Finance and external stakeholders.

This role will report into a Director within the FPR team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute as a member of the FPR leadership team 

  • Ensure financial control is maintained over legal entities

  • Manage delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting as appropriate

  • Lead Finance input on ad hoc projects as required

Experience:

  • Qualified accountant with extensive stakeholder and people management experience

  • Experience of managing the delivery of reporting that utilises the skills/experience of a number of subject matter experts

  • Track record of identifying and delivering process improvements to streamline reporting

  • Strong background in financial reporting, including awareness of global accounting standards, including US GAAP and IFRS

Competencies:

  • Leads individuals and teams to achieve objectives and drive results; inspires the highest levels of performance

  • Ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form, with all levels of the business

  • Further develop Commercially minded with an interest in the asset management sector
