About this role
Purpose of Position:
At BlackRock, our Associate, Cash & Asset Reconciliation role presents an outstanding opportunity to join a first-rate finance team in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. This role is fundamental in ensuring the seamless execution of our accounting and reporting services, which are catered to over 30 accounting clients. We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards in the preparation of monthly accounting packages, quarterly footnote schedules, cash and position reconciliation, and portfolio performance calculation. Your duty will be to effectively introduce operational improvements that improve efficiency and accuracy for our Insurance Accounting clients.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Performing daily responsibilities meticulously, including managing reports, resolving cash and position discrepancies, monitoring inboxes and dashboards, maintaining client and portfolio data, and handling daily subscription/redemption tasks.
Delivering exceptionally high-quality client service both externally and internally by addressing inquiries, performing controls, resolving problems, and mitigating risks for clients and BlackRock partners.
Preparing and/or reviewing reconciliations between BlackRock, Asset Manager, and Custodian Bank, including researching and resolving differences promptly and accurately.
Conducting ongoing maintenance of existing accounts to reflect client or account-level changes meticulously.
Collaborating with external service providers, internal team members, and other BlackRock groups to resolve issues as identified, encouraging a collaborative environment.
Assisting in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving our service offerings and operational excellence.
Skills Required:
Proven ability to prioritize and balance multiple requests while maintaining our overall objectives and deadlines.
Strong decision-making skills to make well-thought-out decisions based on available information and to seek further assistance/clarification when necessary.
Capability to multi-task and perform in a high-performance, high-demand environment.
Initiative to follow up on issues, identifying what needs to be done and taking action.
Organized and diligent with strong time management skills.
Capability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative setting and adeptly adjust to a constantly evolving business environment.
Strong knowledge of equity and fixed income securities and derivative products.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an interest in acquiring new skills.
Preferred: A four-year degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or Economics.
Understanding of upstream processes impacting reconciliation and ability to correlate the effects of changes.
Versatility and receptiveness to fresh challenges, adept at managing multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere, focusing on quality and precision.
