About this role

What team will you be on?

The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is the investment group that encompasses BlackRock’s Fixed Income, Fundamental Equities, Systematic Investments, Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions, and the SMA Solutions Businesses.

Why is your role important?

We are looking for a Vice President to help drive the growth of our platform in the Latin America Institutional business, leading and executing the commercial strategy for BlackRock’s active investment capabilities across the region. This includes Fundamental and Systematic strategies spanning Fixed Income, Equities, and Multi‑Asset. We are seeking someone who is curious, empathetic, and passionate with strong personal ownership for the work you do plus an aspiration to constantly learn and challenge the status quo. 

Your responsibilities

  • Business development for PMG business in Latin America by helping drive sales through more technical investment topics and data and support day-to-day client and sales requests. Drive support to achieve our targets. This spans across multiple investment and distribution teams.

  • The role will also serve as liaison between several PMG investment teams and the sales teams in Latin America, while at the same time partnering with other internal functions across the globe.

  • Translate several Portfolio Management views and research into clear documents, using well written text and supporting data to help convert clients and advisors - into engaged, educated and confident users of BlackRock’s strategies. Articulate and communicate our investment narrative to clients. Create presentations and materials in a wide range of formats.

  • Perform analytical and reporting work to support sales and investments teams including dashboards, intel, creation of presentations, one-pagers, fact sheets, and content for completion of RFPs.

  • Own periodic knowledge transfer with current and future Latin American clients. Drive knowledge transfer through client calls, webinars, in-person visits, market commentaries, podcasts, and research papers.

  • Strong technical skills are a must, background in macroeconomics, capital markets, equity or fixed income research, statistics, econometrics, or other technical disciplines desired.

  • Good understanding of financial markets and drivers of valuation and returns on major asset classes.

  • Partner with LatAm distribution partners to design and drive a broad client investment education program.

What are we looking for?

  • BA/BS required. CFA / CAIA, or progress towards, is preferred

  • 5-7 years of experience in an asset management or financial management company in an analytical or sales position

  • Spanish and English speaking and writing are required, Portuguese a plus

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg

  • Strong attention to detail and process; highly professional, organized and committed to excellence

  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously under tight deadlines

  • Strong research and writing skills: ability to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes

  • Ability to support PMG client relationship management and capital raising activities creatively and proactively in LatAm
