About this role

Business Overview

BlackRock’s Global Product Solutions business (GPS) was formed in 2024 with a mission to innovate, curate and commercialize the full breadth of our investment platform to meet client needs, wherever they are. We do this by innovating the next wave of products and solutions, accelerating iShares adoption, sharpening our focus on active, scaling private markets and our transition businesses, and driving focus on commercial priorities through product prioritization.

Within GPS, the Global COO organization is accountable for core business management activities (including headcount, expense discipline and talent strategy), business governance and oversight as well as leading strategic cross-functional projects to protect and grow the business. During 2025, we are expanding the team to include a Center of Excellence “COO CoE” in Mexico City to drive scale and consistency in COO activities across the GPS organization.

As part of this, we are seeking a lead who will be accountable for team oversight, delivery of team objectives and a degree of execution. They will also partner with GPS Communications Review to streamline and scale activities.

The successful candidate should understand how to navigate the global organization, operate in a resourceful manner and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. Interpersonal skills will be critically important to build strong relationships with stakeholders and develop connectivity with partners across Blackrock.

  • Expense budget management including monitoring and escalating travel and market data expenses and overseeing accounts payable workflows
  • LeadTalent initiatives including driving completion of career development-related deadlines and initiatives related to GPS’s Grad Analysts and Intern programs
  • Periodic business management reporting: Develop and own a consistent set of monthly reports that provide transparency into hiring, expenses and other metrics for global GPS and by sub-business line.

Foster a culture of compliance through robust governance and controls. Sample activities include:

  • Training Programmes: Track and drive completion of compliance-related trainings
  • Regulated Roles Oversight: Oversee registered representatives requirements including those related to new registrations and ongoing compliance
  • Content Compliance: Partner with broader GPS COO and L&C to evolve and streamline GPS’s content review processes. Longer term, own compliance program administration

Reduce risks that expose GPS and the firm to operational, regulatory and reputational risks. Sample activities include:

  • Business Continuity Planning: Maintain office specific crisis management plans and refresh them annually
  • Operating events: Support or lead GPS’s response to operating events

The team lead will also be responsible for oversight of individuals who will deliver on strategic initiatives in direct support of the Global GPS COO and drive requirements and manage governance forums to reduce risk across GPS product ranges and services.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

  • Prior experience in Financial Services and/or Operational teams in a complex, global organization
  • 6-8+ years of experience with driving business management or project management in a complex environment, preferably in the financial / asset management industry
  • Native in Spanish; fluency in English both verbal and written required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information, summarize issues and think creatively
  • Knowledge of how to navigate a global organization, operate in a highly resourceful manner, be extremely well organized and demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills will be critical to building strong relationships across multiple stakeholder groups at all levels
  • Sense of initiative and passion to drive growth of BlackRock’s businesses.
  • An upbeat teammate and driven self-starter, with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic
