About the team: Portfolio Management Group

The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) brings together our global investment pillars to deliver long-term results for our clients. It sits at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. The pillars include Fundamental Fixed Income, Fundamental Equity, Municipals & the Financial Institutions Group, LDI, Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions, Private Investors, Systematic, Private Debt, and Event Driven. The business also includes cross-pillar teams like Data Strategy & Solutions, Sustainability Implementation, PMG Marketing, and a unified technology platform. Our partnerships extend across the firm, including RQA, GPG, and commercial and distribution channels.

Within PMG, the Sustainability Implementation team is dedicated to collaborating with the group’s leadership on the implementation of ESG initiatives across various investment pillars. The team works diligently to integrate sustainability practices into our investment processes, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed industry standards. By partnering closely with key stakeholders, we aim to drive PMG’s sustainability strategy while delivering strong financial performance.

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager to bolster our sustainability efforts across PMG. The ideal candidate will become an expert in our product offerings, regulatory frameworks, and commercial narrative on sustainable and transition investing. This role involves collaborating with a diverse range of internal stakeholders to advance project priorities – from ideation to commercialization – and build internal awareness of our capabilities.

Responsibilities will include

  • Support PMG’s Head of Sustainability Implementation in advancing the firm's sustainability initiatives throughout its active operations

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the firm’s active platform and broader regulatory and industry trends related to sustainability.

  • Build and leverage strong relationships across PMG and with our marketing and communications colleagues

  • Understand sustainability topics and challenges by working closely with pillar sustainability stakeholders and firmwide partner teams to develop and implement effective strategies.

  • Partner with key project stakeholders to define project scope and primary objectives based on business outcome expectations, ensuring alignment with the organization's sustainability goals.

Desired skills and experience

  • A minimum of 6-7 years of relevant work experience in platform or product strategy, sustainability, project management, marketing or oversight/audit functions in asset management industry

  • A strong knowledge of or a keen interest in learning about sustainability topics and global market

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a variety of stakeholders across levels of seniority

  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills

  • Collaborative style of working with a high level of self-motivation, ownership and initiative

Our hybrid work model
