Job description

About this role

Which team will you be on?

BlackRock Global Markets, of which Securities Lending is a part, helps our clients solve their investment challenges and strives to deliver persistent, long-term investment performance. Our investment professionals benefit from the resources of a world-class technology firm that is differentiated by a team approach, integrated research and risk management. Everyone at BlackRock has a role to play in leading the firm’s future growth. We believe that diverse teams with complementary strengths are essential to our success.

We are seeking an Analyst to join Securities Lending, a business which handles approximately $400 billion in loans and provides superior performance through innovative technology, sophisticated quantitative techniques, and product innovation. The successful candidate will work with the Securities Lending leadership team, in addition to the Strategy, Client, Product and Platform team, and key partners which include Finance, Compliance, and Operations.

The Business Management team within Securities Lending is seeking a London based junior business manager. The team is responsible for making sure Securities Lending operates at it’s full potential by strategically growing talent, efficiently overseeing risks, leading our budget, and ensuring strong governance.

Who You Will Ideally Be

  • Organized: Able to utilize superior organizational and multi-tasking skills, integrity and great follow through on tasks; flexible, do not get overwhelmed easily, take a positive approach to problems, and deliver on time
  • Innovative: You are curious, innovative, meticulous, very creative and constantly looking for ways to tweak and optimize processes
  • Driven: You are a people person who can talk to anyone – and listen; you have highly developed negotiation and influencing skills; you can play the diplomat, but be conclusive, too; you understand the impact of a highly satisfied, excited team; and you are slightly obsessive-compulsive about grinding away at issues
  • Diligent: You have strong attention to detail, are willing to assist wherever needed, including support tasks; you have a strong sense of personal ownership and accountability for self and team

What You Will Need

  • Experience: 1-3 years' professional experience
  • Self-starter with high energy, motivation, commitment to excellence and positive approach to business challenges
  • Technical Skills: coding and data analysis abilities (SQL and Python) are required
  • Intellectual curiosity in financial markets and an appetite for consistent learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Relationship Management: Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and translate complex issues
  • Strong attention to detail, and effective organizational and time management skills
