About this role

We are looking for a product development professional to join our Private Markets Structuring & Development Team in Europe. This individual will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design and build of our private markets products.  

The Private Markets Structuring & Development Team forms part of Global Product Solutions (GPS), BlackRock’s central global product function. GPS oversees enterprise product strategy, including pricing, development, structuring, and platform governance. The Private Markets Structuring & Development Team is responsible for the design, structuring and development of private markets investment fund structures and client mandates for institutional and wealth investors globally. Members of the team interact with stakeholders across the firm, including investment teams, distribution, strategy, operations, legal, risk, and compliance functions. 

Responsibilities

  • Project manage the launch of private markets funds and solutions across asset classes and client channels.

  • Assume responsibility and ownership for successful execution of product initiatives, including the delivery of products, solutions and separate accounts.

  • Work closely with tax, operational, legal, compliance and risk management functions on key product issues, and facilitate productive ongoing dialogue across stakeholders to drive outcomes and solutions.

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of our product landscape, competitor offerings and client needs.

  • Help plan and prioritize the product pipeline according to commercial and strategic considerations, to maximize resource efficiency.

  • Acquire and maintain a detailed understanding of BlackRock’s processes, operating environment, and investment products as well as regulatory and structuring requirements, guiding business partners through the launch and shaping product development processes.

  • Present product initiatives at product approval forums, including internal committees and boards.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience at a leading asset manager, bank, or other financial institution with a focus on private markets. 

  • Experience in project managing and delivering complex cross-functional initiatives. 

  • Ability to work with multiple teams to deliver projects according to priorities and within set timelines. 

  • Aptitude to influence key stakeholders and decision makers to drive progress, commit resources and achieve buy-in. 

  • Proven problem solver, with ability to resolve outstanding issues, escalating when necessary. 

  • Broad knowledge of the European regulatory landscape, including AIFMD.  

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and project management skills to manage multiple projects at any one time. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with both internal and external parties. 

  • Broad understanding of private markets and industry trends.  

  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with strong desire to learn and succeed. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  

  • Driven, dynamic and proven team player. 

  • Strong work ethic. 

  • Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Our hybrid work model
