Title: Business Management Associate, COO Team

Business Overview

BlackRock’s Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA Investment Risk’s principal responsibility is to ensure that the risks in BlackRock’s portfolios are fully understood by our portfolio managers and senior management and are consistent with clients’ objectives. We also help build “state-of-the-practice” quantitative models and analytics that help inform risk taking and portfolio construction across the firm. RQA team members tackle real-world problems, using quantitative analysis and a multi-disciplinary skillset to provide tangible solutions in the investment management process.

The RQA COO Team is responsible for ensuring that RQA meets their team goals and objectives.  The team serves as a central point of contact and coordination across RQA and the firm. This role will support RQA’s business management activities. We are seeking a candidate who has is extremely organized, professional and has a passion to find new, innovative ways to support projects and strategic initiatives.

What the team is responsible for:

  • Problem solving issues across the department in an innovative and efficient manner

  • Working with senior leads and the Finance team to oversee budget, headcount forecasts and associated reporting

  • Managing RQA’s hiring and training process and graduate recruitment efforts in conjunction with the HR Recruitment team

  • Preparing RQA’s internal communications to ensure the global team is connected and up to date on important information

  • High level tracking of internal audit reviews and policy updates, while ensuring senior managers in RQA are kept informed of updates

  • Embedding DEI into everything we do and partnering with RQA senior leads on initiatives to promote team culture and talent objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Engaging with RQA’s team members to solve business problems and address departmental needs.

  • Delivering on the COO team’s responsibilities including ownership of the delivery of regular tasks and processes

  • Working on ad hoc projects to deliver execution excellence and improve the efficiency of the team

  • Using analytical skills to independently and accurately analyse information and report back on the results to senior colleagues in a professional and succinct manner

What we’re looking for:

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Collaborative, resourceful, proactive in your approach and capable of adapting to an ever-shifting list of priorities

  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • Strong project management and analytical skills

  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills with ability to explain complex ideas in simple but impactful terms

  • Team player with an ability to foster relationships across RQA teams and with our internal partners to influence outcomes and negotiate change

  • An understanding of how Financial Markets work and strong interest in learning more about the dynamics of RQA.

Our hybrid work model
