About this role
The APAC Marketing team in BlackRock sets the strategic direction and implements marketing plans for client business in Asia Pacific. It is the responsibility of this team to raise brand awareness and drive preference of our investment capabilities, including analysing the return on investment to inform and evolve future activities.
We’re seeking a versatile and driven marketer with a strong foundation in asset management and a passion for transforming complex concepts into concise and compelling messages to join the Asia Pacific Marketing team. . This regional role blends product marketing and content creation, supporting the full marketing lifecycle – from strategy and messaging to execution and distribution. This is an opportunity for individuals interested to work across asset classes and client segments, to help shape narratives that resonate with investors and drive commercial outcomes.
Ideal candidates will thrive working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working on strategic projects and collaborating with salespeople, investment and product specialists, and the broader marketing and communications group. Candidates with less experience will be considered for an Associate role.
The role will report to a Vice President in the team.
Overview of Responsibility:
Support strategy, create and influence content
- Develop and create content for different formats, including digital, video, print and infographics, and for different channels such as website, social media, email, instant messaging, events and advertising.
- Distil complex products and concepts into timely, impactful messaging to support product and commercial priorities in the region.
- Develop targeted content for BlackRock’s broad range of client types across the region.
- Collaborate closely with sales, investment, product, marketing and communications teams to support global narratives and thought leadership, under tight deadlines.
- Ensure all product and content messaging initiatives are compliant and implemented within BlackRock guidelines, controls and processes.
Support scaled distribution
- Contribute to integrated, commercial activation plans for our product launches/enhancements and thought leadership publications, working with clients, communications and product partners.
Team development
- Collaborate with regional marketers in the US, Europe and client marketers in Asia Pacific on content marketing initiatives and product campaigns.
- Help nurture the skills and development of more junior team members.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree; Minimum of 10 years of experience, with a proven track record in financial services, preferably within asset management. Direct experience in content and product marketing, or in a closely related role, is strongly preferred. Candidates with less experience will be considered for an Associate level role.
- Solid understanding of the financial industry ecosystem, ideally including investment products such as mutual funds, ETFs and alternatives.
- Strong commercial market awareness, client acumen and intellectual curiosity.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, complemented by strong quantitative and analytical capabilities. A creative and engaging approach to message delivery, with the ability to maintain originality in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in translating complex investment concepts and themes into clear, accessible messaging and content.
- Driven and self-motivated with the ability to work independently when needed and as a core part of cross-functional teams.
- Agile and creative mindset, with strong critical thinking and an innovative approach to problem solving
- Highly collaborative nature to partner credibly across the firm locally, regionally and globally.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to move projects forward amidst ambiguity, effectively integrating input while maintaining project schedules.
- Highest standards of integrity and strong fiduciary orientation.
- Proficiency in creating Chinese-language content for the Hong Kong market is preferred.
