The mission of Global Product Solutions (GPS) is to bring the right products and solutions, in the right way, at the right time to help our clients meet their goals. The team is responsible for driving commercial investment priorities across the platform, innovating the next wave of products and solutions, accelerating our iShares adoption, sharpening our commercial focus on active products and helping clients build better portfolios via actionable market and portfolio insights. GPS partners closely with Client Businesses, Investment teams, and Corporate Functions to achieve the firm’s goals and objectives.

About this Role
The Product Development team for GPS in Asia ex-Japan is responsible for product development and management initiatives in the region. The team ensures product priorities are consistent with overall firm strategy and growth aspirations and manages a clear and principled product development process, throughout the whole product lifecycle from conceptualisation to implementation.
We are offering a Product role in that team, assisting senior members and leading on various projects. The position is based in Hong Kong; it offers an opportunity to partner with different stakeholders within the firm (Client Businesses, Investment teams, and other Corporate Functions) and externally (clients, service providers, regulators etc.) to deliver investment strategies across liquid asset classes in unlisted wrappers, leveraging the global fund platform and capabilities of BlackRock, to our clients in the region.
Responsibilities:
Acquire and maintain an in-depth knowledge of BlackRock’s global product set.
Conduct in-depth industry research and competitor analysis to understand the industry landscape and client/market trends and be able to convert sophisticated market data into valuable insights.
Work with the team to engage with internal stakeholders to understand client needs and product gaps, to develop viable investment solutions and commercialization plans to drive success for focus products.
Support senior product leads across active & index in product design and structuring, coordinate the product approvals process and drive the end-to-end product implementation process.
Support the evolution of the product governance framework, leveraging global standards and driving efficiencies through problem solving.
Work on the maintenance of the local product platform with other team members, taking ownership of certain activities, by focusing on commercial needs as well as regulatory changes and industry developments.
Requirements:
An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting or other relevant fields with strong academic background and a consistent track record to synthesize sophisticated topics in an unstructured fashion.
At least one year of proven experience in financial services.
A keen curiosity about market/industry research, product design and structuring.
Possesses shown quantitative and analytical skills.
Strong project management and stakeholder management skills; comfortable with working across geography, time zones and functions to optimally contribute in large working group settings.
Organized, self-reliant, and self-motivated, with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Demonstrates a high level of ability to work under pressure and become comfortable with ambiguity and dynamically shifting priorities, timelines, and demands.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead meetings and conduct effective briefings and presentations.
High proficiency in using Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products.
Knowledge in using data provider/visualization/analysis tools such as Morningstar, Power BI, Bloomberg, and programming languages such as VBA and Python will be a plus.
Excellent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese will be a plus.
