About this role
The Business Continuity Management (BCM) Team is part of the broader Resilience and Safety team which contributes to the continued success of BlackRock through strategic solutions and business services that provide each employee with an efficient, resilient, safe and high-performance work experience.
Enterprise Resilience and Safety is comprised of four key functions – Business Continuity Management (BCM), Disaster Recovery (DR) and Safety. These teams are tasked with implementing a risk-based management approach to safeguard BlackRock staff and visitors, as well as its reputation, physical and information assets, and operations from potential disruptive events.
The BCM team is responsible for the resilience of our operations by detailing and analyzing risks, developing mitigation plans, and conducting exercises to validate these plans. The team is also responsible for providing a crisis response framework to efficiently coordinate activities during disruptive events.
Position Purpose
This role will provide direct support to the Business Continuity Management program and standards, striving to uphold a resilient, prepared and adaptable business environment in the event of a disaster.
This role will report to the APAC Head of Enterprise Resilience and will support regional operations as required.
The role will also include responsibilities related to Intelligence-Security in the region.
Your key responsibilities:
Enterprise Resilience
Provide advisory of the overall BCM, DR and CM programme in Mainland China including:
Support local teams so the BCM Program is maintained including BIA/BCP review, testing and training for China entities
Facilitate the delivery of the CM programme in China including the review of wallet cards and CM playbook, along with general incident management.
Support China entities to ensure the local BCM and CM frameworks meet local regulatory obligations and BlackRock standards.
Support China onshore entities with their annual DR/BCP testing for IMS and OA environments.
Lead Tier 3-4 BCPs in APAC and India
Support on data analysis for Singapore Operational Resilience
Support APAC Head of Enterprise Resilience on CMT exercises and industry wide exercises.
Support the annual Global Remote Access Exercise delivery
Support global BCM client requests
Support incident and crisis management activities in APAC and India
Intelligence - Security
Monitor open-source news outlets and sites to identify potential threats specific to BlackRock’s assets globally and security or disruption issues affecting business travelers.
Provide intelligence support to executive protection services including trip planning and itinerary monitoring, advance work support, and event coverage for senior leaders travelling to APAC.
Compile advice, country risk ratings and documentation to brief company travelers ahead of visits to high-risk destinations.
Produce scheduled, templated reports. Including reports covering major events, issues, and emerging threats in APAC.
Provide ad-hoc briefings, reports, presentations, and updates as requested considering changing security situations.
Continuously reviewing threat monitoring and analysis processes, proactively identifying any improvements or efficiencies required.
Oversee and lead intelligence vendors, including the acquisition of new vendors, as vital e.g. supporting the transition of OSINT and threat monitoring tools to ONTIC.
Facilitate the Security team with projects in Mainland China e.g. implementation of alarm supervising services in BLK China; centralise access control alarm supervising to third party.
Education & Awareness
Ensure businesses are proficient in updating business continuity plans in our BCM planning system.
Coordinate plan walkthroughs and tabletop exercises to raise BCP awareness.
Daily monitoring and issue of threats potentially impacting BlackRock operations
Qualification, Experience & Key Competencies:
Bachelors or higher degree
6+ years of related job experience
Strong analytical and data visualization skills
Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Great teammate, ready to promote a culture of collaboration, innovation and mutual respect
Willing to provide support during a crisis 24/7/365, if needed
Experience with Security or Health & Safety a plus
